P/T Timeline

Juggernaut This is my P/T Timeline. I didn't go episode by episode and seek out the P/T moments, but I think I've followed their journey accurately =o) Vis~a~Vis

The Beginning: When Tom and B'Elanna were both in the Maquis, they weren't even close to being friends. He was the 'pig' who deserted the Maquis when they needed him. Tom was incarcerated and serving a sentance on Earth when Captain Janeway asked him to be an observer on 'Voyager'. Their mission was to track down the Maquis ship from out of the Badlands and deliver them to Starfleet.

Meanwhile, B'Elanna stuck by Chakotay as loyal Engineer on the Maquis ship. But something unexpected happened. Voyager and the Maquis were sucked into the Delta Quadrant by the Caretaker, and the two crews forced together.

Tom and B'Elanna were still far from close. He was still a pig, and she was still a cold-hearted engineer. They sniped and bickered back and forth for almost a year.

Then, B'Elanna, Tom, and Durst were kidnapped by the Vidiians. B'Elanna's DNA was split, making her into two different people: One Klingon, the other Human. The Human B'Elanna was put to work alongside Tom. They shared some tender moments in the caves, B'Elanna admitting how scared she was about the whole thing and Tom reassuring her that everything would turn out okay.

Of course it did, but the bickering continued. You'd think nothing happened. That continued for over a year, until it became increasingly aware that they were developing feelings for each other. Tom asked her for a date on the Holodeck, but she turned him down. When the crew went back to 1996, Tom fell for an annoying young scientist Rain Robinson. My explanation for that is the fact that he was on the rebound from B'Elanna's rejection =o)

Later on, Tom and B'Elanna attended a luau on the Holodeck. Tom was openly flirting, and so was Bea. They were going to sit together, but Vorik insisted he sit with Torres, leaving Paris behind.

In a move that shocked us all, Vorik proposed marriage to B'Elanna. Shocked, she turned him down, and he grabbed her face in some Vulcan thing. Unbeknownst to her, he had Pon Farr, which he transmitted to her. On an away mission with Tom and Neelix, Bea started to feel the effects of the hormones. She bit Tom on the cheek (a mating ritual for those of you who didn't know) and took off in the caves. After fighting with her raging emotions, B'Elanna tried to get Tom to mate with her, which would resolve the Pon Farr. He obviously wanted to, and told her as much, but wanted to keep her respect. Finally, Tuvok said that if Tom did not help her, she would die. They were just getting into it when Vorik declared a fight for the right to be her mate. Torres kicked his Vulcan hiney, and their Pon Farr was resolved.

After that, the flirting intensified. When Kes was traveling through time, she found out that in the future, Tom and B'Elanna were going to be a couple.

Season Four brought a lot of changes for Tom and B'Elanna. On the Day of Honor, their shuttle exploded and they evacuated into space. The day had been rough on her, and she thought she was going to die without a shred of honor. That's when she admitted to herself and to Tom that she loved him.

Three days later, Tom offered her a way out of her confession, but she said she meant it. She told him to ignore everything she said, to just forget it ever happened, but he silenced her with a kiss. While she was on an away mission later that day, she was almost killed by a sentient hologram, who tried to rip out her heart. Once back on Voyager, the Doc worked his magic and fixed her up. Tom said how tired he was, and B'Elanna asked if he was too tired to meet her later. He said only if her heart could take it. Ahh, amore.

Tom and B'Elanna began to explore their relationship more, until the Captain put them under orders to use better judgement after the embarrassing console incident. That didn't stop them too much. When the ship was under heavy attack and B'Elanna seriously injured, Tom sat by her side and helped her as best he could. When an alien species wanted to perform a labotomy on her brain, Tom was worried sick, and he stuck beside her when all her friends were killed and captured back on Earth. So much changed between them, grew stronger.

The Present: Today, their relationship continues to grow stronger as the learn and grow from one another. In fact, we saw a wedding between the two's clones from "Demon". It's my opinion that the clones would have never married unless they had some reason to think there was a love strong enough. The two are closer now then ever, having made it through B'Elanna's near death, Tom's takeover by the Christine shuttle, and an implanted memory of a war. They show their devotion in everything they do.

The Future: I think that there are many unexplored roads between these two. There are so many possibilities to explore. A family, marriage, and the oh-so-horrible aspect of cooling down altogether. Tom has yet to admit his love for Bea, and there's still room for growth in the trust.
