According to the person who told me the story that "Bob the funky monkey junkie" was based on, South of the Border is a very real store along I-95. It's a combination beer store, knick-knack palace, and junk store!! Apparently Bob and his friends stop every time they drive by it. And, the monkey was real!!!!!
