Background to fame: When he was nine, straight after he moved to Florida, Nick landed the lead role in a production of the Phantom of the Opera. Nick was also in Edward Scissorhands-he is the boy near the beginning, on the slip 'n' slide. At the age of twelve, Nick won the New Amateur Hour competition and did commercials for the Money Store and for the Florida State Lottery. He also sang at the opening of one of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers games. He was offered a place with Disney, but Nick had already met AJ and Howie and opted to join the Backstreet Boys.
