Dear Sherry,
Life is but a fleeting moment when compared with infinity.
Forty-nine years is only a blink when encompassed by eternity.
You laughed, you loved and you shared it all
With those much less fortunate.
To know you was a gift.
We have missed you sorely these two years past.
The time never usually noticed, has gone by us so fast.
Your grandchildren are growing,
People you barely knew,
Your parents are aging,
They miss you too!
Your sisters struggle to find themselves,
Remembering individually what you've shared
Your brothers work hard,
But we all remember how much you cared.
You touched our lives individually,
I know you tried to teach me to see
That lost hurting child inside
I ignored so frequently.
A lesson I am now having to learn,
But it really is okay.
Your spirit light ahead does burn
My dearest friend leads the way
Sherry, my loving sister, we'll talk again,
I'll close now, for today.
Renewal
The seeds you sent
Those forget-me-nots,
It took me two years
To find the perfect spot.
Somewhere I knew they would grow
Wild and free.
They have been planted
High on a mountain.
They can spread their beauty
Without curtailment,
Warmed by the sun,
Kissed by the dew.
Seen only by those few
Who love nature that much.
The blooms to remain, unsoiled, untouched.
No goodbyes were said
When the seeds were placed so carefully.
Just reach for the sun, Sister dear,
I have chosen this location for its beauty,
Its state of wild, untamed glory.
Grow and abound,
Be at peace.
