Power Of Love

By Cassy

Oz lifted his hands from the wheel, took a deep breath and closed his eyes. Images of Willow danced across his mind, her smile, her eyes and the sound of her voice, especially her last words. A slow burning anger slowly consumed him, anger at himself. How could he think to leave her, he loved her with everything he had and he doubted he would live without her. Time to put on MY resolve face Oz thought with a slight chuckle, he opened the van door and practically ran back up the stairs. He slowly eased the door open and stood in the open doorway of his room. Willow sat on the floor; tears drenched her face as her shoulders shook with every heart-wrenching sob. He sprung from his place outside the room and gathered her into his arms, holding her tightly, wanting to melt into her embrace. I'm sorry baby I could never leave you, you are my heart and my soul, I just don't want to see you hurt ever, he murmured into her hair, the silky mass of fiery red shaking with every relieved cry making him wonder why he ever thought to leave.

No Oz her head hurt, her body ached but most of all her heart throbbed. She slid slowly to the ground, no longer caring what she must look like. Her eyes burned as she looked up, hoping to see one last glance of Oz, she could literally feel her heart breaking as she heard his voice in her head, In my life I've never loved anyone else. Bitterly she thought if he loved me he would never have left me, just the thought of him leaving her left her in tears again. She wanted an escape from the pain, the image of her Oz with Veruca, so she was in a band¡big whoop, even as she thought this she knew it was horrible, Veruca was dead, so she had stolen the only thing Willow had ever loved and then tried to kill her but still Veruca was dead. Her shoulders heaved as she broke down again, wishing he were here, holding her, comforting her, telling her that they would get through this, like they got through everything. And suddenly she felt his arms go around her, holding her gently yet with so much passion and longing that she cried out, letting out the breath she didn't know she was holding. She fell into his embrace as she grasped the fact that he WAS here; he loved her and would never leave her. She dimly heard his words, her heart beating in synchrony with his, loud and thumping, drowning out everything around them. Don't ever leave me. She lifted her head high enough to stare into his eyes. Please Oz I need you and I need Oz kissage. She smiled weakly as she gently ran her hand down the side of his face and into his hair. He lent down and his lips met hers, soft and tender. Never again, he whispered, his lips still on hers.

He sighed quietly. This was where he belonged, with Willow. The image of Veruca slowly dying as he tore her throat out was being replaced by everything Willow. He could never hurt her, even in wolf mode and finally he knew that. His heart was much stronger then anything life could throw at them. Baby I killed someone. Things are different I don't know what I'm going to do, he needed to tell her this; he couldn't just forget it ever happened. She slid out of his embrace and for a second his heart froze, she's disgusted, he thought but when he looked into her eyes he knew she understood his fears. We we can go together. She told him, looking slightly flustered, he knew he could never do that to her, make her leave her family and friends, Buffy and Xander. He reached for her then and drew her into another heart-pounding kiss. Its ok, we'll work things out. He felt her relax in his arms, she flashed him that cute smile that has caught his attention from the start. I love you Oz, it was that simple, he felt complete again, Willow had that effect on him, and he would easily give up his life for her.

They lay together on his bed. He was asleep and she looked over him wonder. His expression was completely relaxed and she wanted so much to wake him but she couldn't, he looked too sweet and innocent, so instead she snuggled deeper into his arms, closed her eyes and listened to his gentle breathing. For her everything was right again and nothing could ever change that now.

Willow awoke to the sun shining directly in her eyes, she slowly sat up, confused. She was alone in the room and still in the clothes she was in yesterday. She froze, afraid that it had all been a dream and Oz was gone, tears filled her eyes again. She reached over and grabbed a shirt from his closet, breathed in his scent and hugged it to her chest; she lay back down, unsure of what to do next. The door opened and Oz stepped in carrying breakfast, the image brought back memories for Willow, the image of Veruca and Oz tangled together after a night together. She quickly brushed the thought out of her mind, for now just happy that it hadn¡¯t been a dream, Oz was here and he was with her. She got up and ran into his arms, he held her tightly, understanding her need for reassurance and gladly offering her comfort. After a while the couple separated and Oz looked down at her with a serious expression. ¡°Baby¡you know things are different now¡¡± he whispered, unsure of how to go on. She took his hand wordlessly, her expression saying everything he needed to know. The door suddenly swung open and Buffy stood there, a sheepish expression on her face. Well looks like smoochies all around and I'm glad coz if you'd hurt Willow you know I woulda gone slayer on your ass right Oz? She flashed a quick smile to Willow and turned around to leave. Oz look Giles says that he can help you deal with what happened¡go talk to him later kay?¡± Oz nodded with his usual stoicism.

Oz? I quit the Wicca group. She looked at him sadly. I thought about it and well magic me power you know she flushed, I thought I told you to stop me when I did that. Oz smiled and pulled her to him, I've told you before that I support whatever you do baby and I mean it. He nuzzled her neck and whispered in her ear. Remember? As Willow goes, so goes my nation.

She giggled and planted a kiss on his nose and he knew everything was back to normal, well as normal as it could get.
