A bitch, an enemy, A lover, a friend It's how you see me And who I am Your heart so protected, but from who? Not me... With a smile, a laugh, I reach it with ease I sense your fear beginning to mount Deny if you must As I squeeze firmly, you shout "Bitch!" To be so audacious Enemy! ...To conquer me!" I was to be just a friend, at most a lover If only you had looked to another..... Playfully, I warned you away Laying out my plans to you But with disregard, you stayed Does it seem so unfair? That I slipped in, To revel in your warmth, To feel the pounding Was it so damning? Standing there, arms hanging down Blood flowing, tracing each finger, Dripping to the ground You look so surreal So sad, and forlorn The smile belies you, even a hint of scorn Touching your eyes Your lovely eyes I look back at you, a smile begins to set I have felt you With stealth, I've reached my target So worried about YOUR Precious Heart So afraid to be loved, yet craving it's sweetness You didn't give a thought to me, or the rest Bring your eyes up to me See me for what I am A Heartless Bitch ...but look closely At the blood on your hand Perhaps you'll realize, Or perhaps you already knew I reached out to touch your heart But you tore in, and ripped mine out Leaving me dazed, not knowing what to do I don't even care that you're blind to your sin Only to the extent of comforting you And I think, at long last It dawns on you where the Bitch began ©~cjv/3-99 Thanks, V, for letting me use your poem.
