Lylat overextended and I caught him to win this, the fourth game of our series this clanwars season. My opening pop trick was strong, giving me builders at the three planets north of my home system. After my second, econ-building pop trick, Lylat came at me with a 8-ship fleet of what I assumed were BR3's. I Sat/Mined 21,20E, and prayed for the sweeper. Lylat surprised me by bringing only BR2 ships, and I crushed the fleet with no losses. I then concentrated on colonization, as Lylat is really big on econ building, and I knew I could stay even on tech because of his BR2 overbuild. I built attacks and a colony up at 21,22E and went after 22,23. Lylat surprised me by putting up little resistance, and when I realized that he was conceding 22,22, 23,22 AND 22,20, I knew something was up. just in time I noticed that there was a possibility that he had a builder east of my home system. There was no link, and I didn't expect anything really fancy from Lylat, but I decided to play it safe. Just in time it seems... the link opened the next turn. I took my 3-planet advantage and dismantled my northern fleet, colonizing the nice planet and built satelites in my HW. they were BR3's, but the three sats still managed to kill off 2 ships, so I was optimistic. With the econ loss, perhaps his fuel was short. In any event, I survived the nuke attempt, with BR4 sats, and moved an attack over to his builder to crush an 8-ship overbuild. After that I just had to find his homeworld.
