Supreme refused to play me in a LG on Lysator, so I grudgingly agreed to a match on Tool. I don't like the planets on Tool since they make it a little easy to pop trick. I was pretty bummed when I logged in and saw the one-jump, but Supreme made noise indicating that he wasn't too pleased on his end either. Turns out that he was a little closer to my planets than I was to his, as first contact was made right on my 10th system (Orion). He managed to explore clear through to 18,21 while I pop tricked with 18,21, Orion, 18,18, and 19,18. After my pop trick I had a commanding 7-4 econ lead, so it was time to turn on the offense. I built threes and managed to blow a minefield at his front builder (22,20). Supreme made the big mistake of attempting a minefield trick with ships mutualling. An econ of two and 5 BR3 ships is quite the tech loss. At the same time, I colonized his 10th system and hit BR4. When supreme saw what I was capable of building, he ruined off robbing me of a nuke, but not the satisfaction of beating him so decisively. Who had the map? Meeting on my 10th and my one-jump homeworld would suggest that it was even at worst.
