My best friend, you came to be.
So trusting and loyal, you were to me.

You guarded our home so brave and true.
There will never be another companion such as you.

I watched you from a 6 month pup, grow.
You loved your tennis ball, that I would throw.

Chasing Molly around the yard, to show me you were the best.
How many memories I will carry of all the rest.

I carried you to rest in a most peaceful place.
Knowing my life you filled with such love and grace.

It is not me saying to you, good-bye.
Knowing, that someday we will meet in the blue, beautiful sky.

God, heard my prayers for your quick release.
And in this I have found my peace.

I will miss you Kodi...my gallant friend.
Yet, even I know...what I had in you will never end.
