Tips and Tricks for Red and Blue Versions

Fight Pokemon from the Safari Zone at Cinnabar (This way it's easier to catch 'em)

You must have a Pokemon with FLY (HM 02) and a Pokemon with SURF (HM 04) and have at least 7 badges. Go to the Safari Zone and spend all your time wandering around EVERY area. When time ends, FLY to Cinnabar and SURF at the right border of the island (when you see the surfing Pokemon half on land and half in the water) and Pokemon from the Safari Zone will appear. Now you can weaken them and catch 'em with PokeBalls, GreatBalls or UltraBalls.

How to catch #000 - Missingno.

WARNING - Capturing Missingno. will damage your game and will destroy the graphics. Save your game before doing this! - You must have a Pokemon with FLY (HM 02) and a Pokemon with SURF (HM 04) and have all 8 badges. Go to the old man in Viridian city and talk to him. He'll tell you: "Ahh, I've had my coffee now and I feel great! Sure you can go through! Are you in a hurry?". When the "YES , NO" screen appears choose "YES" and he'll let you go. Than talk to him ahain and tell him "NO" and he will teach you how to catch a Pokemon. When he finishes he'll speak a little more and then let you go. Now, FLY to Cinnabar Island and surf on the right border of the island (when you see the surfing Pokemon half on land and half in the water) and some strange Pokemon will appear, like Pokemon over level 100. Eventually you'll run into Missigno.. He's very weak so just throw a pokeball at it or you'll kill it. And that's it, YOU'VE CAUGHT MISSIGNO.!

How to duplicate Pokemon

First you need: Two versions (Blue or Red, doesn't matter), a link cable, the pokemon you will duplicate (a strong one), and a spare Pokemon to throw away (this one will turn into the strong one). - First go to the trading post, one of the traders with THE STRONG POKEMON and the other with THE WEAK POKEMON. Choose to trade THE STRONG POKEMON with THE WEAK POKEMON and let it trade, but NOT 'till the end. When the trade is almost finished, the "waiting..." screen appears. At that point (the "waiting..." screen) the person with the strong Pokemon turn off the Game Boy. Then THE OTHER PERSON TURNS THE GAMEBOY OFF WHEN THE TRADE IS FINISHED. Turn on both Game Boys and the person who traded THE STRONG POKEMON will still have it. And the person with THE WEAK POKEMON will have THE STRONG POKEMON too!

How to Multiply an Item

WARNING - This will damage your Pokemon League Scores on the Computer - You must have a Pokemon with FLY (HM 02)and a Pokemon with SURF (HM 04) and have all 8 badges. First put the item you want to multiply in the 6th position. Now go to the old man in Viridian city and talk to him. He'll tell you: "Ahh, I've had my coffee now and I feel great! Sure you can go through! Are you in a hurry?". When the "YES , NO" screen appears choose "YES" and he'll let you go. Than talk to him ahain and tell him "NO" and he will teach you how to catch a Pokemon. When he finishes he'll speak a little more and then let you go. Now, FLY to Cinnabar Island and surf on the right border of the island (when you see the surfing Pokemon half on land and half in the water) until you find Missingno. DON'T CAPTURE IT!, all you have to do is kill it or run away. After that check the 6th position in your items and it will have a weird sign and a number next to it. You will now have over 100 of the item. I mostly used this with RARE CANDY, MASTER BALL, FULL RESTORE, and MAX POTION. They really come in handy.

Invisible PC

Got to Celadon City and go to the people Hotel. Stand where the PC should be. Take 2 steps backward and 1 step forward (it will look like if you were in front of a PC though it's invisible) now press A and the PC screen will appear.

Hold "(A)" whn using an attack and it will cause more damage

Hold "down (A)" right after throwing the Pokeball and you'll have a better chance of catching the Pokemon.

THIS IS SUPPOSEDLY TRUE AND SUPPOSEDLY APPROVED BY NINTENDO - How to Catch Pikablu

First you must catch all 150 Pokemon not using GameShark. Then you also must have Seventeen of your Pokemon at Level 100. Then when all of these tasks are complete, go to the guy in Pewter City who asks you if you have been to the Museum yet. Say "NO" so he takes you to the door. Then go into the museum and go upstairs and talk to the Lady who says "I want My boyfriend to catch me a Pikachu!" After you talk to her, immediatly come out of the door and once you come out of the door do not take any steps forward. Immediately use fly and go to Celedon City. Go to the Safari Zone and catch a Tuaros. Leave room in your pokemon slots. So only bring 5 when you go to catch him. Then put Tuaros in your 1st slot. Go into the Game Corner and talk to the Lady that says "Go Next Door to the Coin Exchange Corner to use your coins to get great Prizes!" But this time she will say, "Hey? You have all the badges? WOW! Well then since you were nice enough to talk to me, I will give you this Pokemon I found stranded behind then Pokemon Museum, he is so strong I can not control him. But since you have all the badges, YOU TAKE HIM! It will say, "You got ???????" Then when you try to use it, it will just be like if you were pressing cancel and it will exit every time you click on it. Then go to Proffesor Oak and he will say the same thing he says when you give him Oaks Parcel, it will still say "YOU DELIVERED OAKS PARCEL!" Then when you go into your pokemon line and it will replace the Pokemon in your first slot. So put a spearow or something in first. It will still be called ????? so go to the Nickname guy and change it to Pikablu. It has a Electric Wave, Psyshock, and Electrode. It is a Level 999 Pikablu and it will appear in your Pokedex! After 150 it will say 154 and then you look at the Pokedex Info and it will look like this... Name: Pikablu Type: ??????? Height: 2" 3" Length: 3" 4" Height: 2" 3" Wieght: 34 Stats: Attack 999, Defense 999, Speed 999, Special 999, Attacks: Electric Wave, Psyshock, Electrode, and It Learns SonicBoom when you gain around 60, 000 experience points and it kills any pokemon in one hit and it never misses!
