Hi! Celadon City has a large pokemart, Celadon Mansion, Erika's gym, and the famous Game Corner.
Celadon City is known for it's enormous pokemart. This pokemart has five floors and a rooftop for buying refreshments. On the first floor is the receptionnist desk. Nothing important here. They just give you the description of what each floor sells. The second floor has two clerks at the desk. One sells you TM's and the other sells you . The third floor does not sell you anything. People there will tell you valuable information such as what trading can do. A person at the counter will give you a TM , Counter. The fourth floor sells you element stones and pokedolls. Element stones can evolve some pokemon. For example, Eggexecute evolves into Exeguttor using the Leaf Stone. A pokedoll is useless and wastes money. Buy one anyway because a girl in Saffron City will give you a TM for giving her a doll. The fifth floor sells you items such as super potions and antidotes and "stats level ups" such as PP Up, Iron (raises defense stats), and Carbos (raises Speed). The roof top has vending machines. You can buy fresh water, soda, and lemonade. Buy each one and give them to the little girl. She, in return, will give you a TM for each one: TM 13 - Ice Beam, TM 48 - Rock Slide, and TM 49 - Tri Attack. Buy another drink for the guard. Remember the underground path you had to take from Cerulean City to Vermillion and Lavendor Town to Celadon. You had to take these routes because the road to Saffron was closed. Well, if you give one of these guards a drink, all routes to Saffron City will be open to you. Saffron City has a pokemart that sells Full heal. Full heal can cure any disease: poison, burn, freeze, parylyze, etc... This one's the best!
Exit the pokemart and go to the very left. Snorlax, the sleeping pokemon is there. There are two Snorlaxes in the game. You have to wake them up before you can go past them. You can get the Pokeflute later. Anyway, above is a patch of grass. Cut your way through. In that patch of grass are Spearows, Dodous, Raticates, and Rattatas. Do not catch any of these pokemon here because there are higher level ones soon.
Go left of the patch of grass, into the building.
This is a "backway" to a little girl's house/hideout. In the house, the little girl will give you HM 2, Fly in order for you to keep quiet. Teach Fly to Pidgeotto, your favorite bird pokemon. I recommend you teach Fly to all your flying pokemon. Outside of battle, it is even better than Teleport. You can fly to any city you have visited. They let you choose on a town map. You will land on that city's Pokecenter. In battle, Fly is a powerful flying typed attack. It is the same as dig except your pokemon flies instead of digs.
On the right of the pokemart is another "big" building, called the Celadon Mansion. If you go in the front door, you'll meet lots of people. On the first floor is some children. One will tell you how great Meowth is because it brings money home. Go up the stairs. You'll meet a game room where the producers of Pokemon meet to discuss things. This room should be empty. Go up another flight of stairs and you should be in a room with people, this time. These are the producers of the game. Every person except one should be on the computers there, working. Talk to the one standing up and he'll tell you that when you catch al 150 pokemon, come to him. He will give you a diploma. Go up the stairs and you should come to an empty place. There is a small little house there but you need to get there from the back door. Go back out. Go to the back path of Celadon Mansion.
Go in and just keep on going up the stairs. It's just a little backway.
Finally, you can go into that little building. There, you will meet Mr. "Know-it-all". Don't worry about him. On his table is a pokeball. That pokeball contanis Eevee!!! Get it.
Eevee is an unique pokemon. You can evolve it to one of three different pokemon: Jolteon, Vaporeon, and Flareon. You can get Jolteon by using a Thunder Stone on Eevee. Jolteon is one of the best electric pokemon. You get Vaporeon by using a Water Stone. I advise you to give TM 13, Ice beam to it if you get Vaporeon. You get Flareon by using a Fire Stone.
Now for Erika. Erika's gym is at the very bottom of Celadon City. Cut your way through and go left. Erika and her trainers all use grass typed pokemon. I strongly advise you to bring Pidgeotto because flying attacks are super effective against grass pokemon. Pidgeotto's Fly can kill them all in one hit. Bring a Cut pokemon, a flying pokemon, a pokemon with ice attacks (Vaporeon with Ice Beam), psychic pokemon, fighting pokemon, ground pokemon, and fire pokemon. All of these are super effective against grass pokemon. Erika's gym should be very easy. Erika's trainers all use Bellsprout, Weepinbell, Oddish, and Gloom. Watch out for their poison attacks and wrap. Bellsprout and Weepinbell's Wrap can attack up to 5 times in a row. Beat them all. Cut through your way and beat the three trainers beside Erika.
Erika uses three pokemon: Victreebell, level 27 (I think), Tangela level 24, and Vileplume level 29 (I think). Just use Fly, Ice Beam, Confusion, Ember, or dig and they'll be dead in a second.
Once you beat Erika, she will give you the Rainbow Badge, TM 21, Mega Drain. Mega Drain hits your opponent with a grass attack and gives half of the damage to your pokemon. It's a pretty good move. You could teach it to Bulbasaur but I advise not to. Leech Seed is still a good move in fighting pokemon more powerful than you. The Marsh Badge allows all pokemon up to level 50 to obey you.
Get the Poke Flute before reading this next part!
Snorlax is blocking the way to Cycling Road. You want to capture it. Bring a pokemon with Sand-Attack (Dugtrio, Pidgeotto, evolved Eevee), a pokemon with Leer or Tail Whip, a pokemon with Growl, and a pokemon with Hypnosis, Sing, or Sleep Powder. Save first. Use the pokeflute to wake it up.
Send out your pokemon with Sand-Attack first. Use this attack seven attacks so that almost every attack Snorlax does will miss. Then, send out the pokemon with Leer or Tail Whip and use it seven times to lower Snorlax's defense. Then do the same with Growl so Snorlax's attack power will be lowered. Snorlax can be invincible because of his move, called Rest. When Snorlax uses Rest, it falls asleep and regains his HP. For some reason, he has unlimited PP for this attack. So you should put it to sleep right away. Use Leech Seed to suck HP from it every turn. It will be best if you have Ice Beam so you can freeze it. Ice Beam sometimes freezes your opponent so that they can never move in battle. But Snorlax has a very high special. Do not use elemental attacks against it. Instead, use normal attacks such as tackle and quick attack. Do not use Hyper Fang because Snorlax's defense is very low. When you have lowered his HP by a lot, throw a Great Ball and it should be yours!
Now into Cycling Road!
