Ash Ketchum is the major main character in the show. He was 10 years old when he first started his pokemon journey in Pallet Town, where here was born. He lived with his parents. His mother urged him to go on the journey because his father was also a pokemon trainer. Ash vows to be the greatest Pokemon master. Although a little stupid and ignorant, Ash understands when to give in and has nice manners, except to Misty. On his starting day, he woke up late and missed choosing one of the three basic pokemon: Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander. Instead, he got Pikachu, an electric rodent which would not obey Ash due to his lack of knowledge. Pikachu finally trusted Ash when he protected it. Ash travels with his other two companions, Misty and Brock.

PIKACHU

Pikachu was Ash's first pokemon. It prefers not to stay in the pokeball because it is afraid of it. It is Ash's favorite companion. Pikachu is usually very gentle. It can communicate easily with other people and pokemon. It does not like people who abandon pokemon because they think the pokemon's too weak. When angry or wants to wake up Ash, it stuns Ash. Pikachu likes Ash because it knows he has great determination and loves and treats his pokemon with respect. Ash treats Pikachu not only as his pokemon, but mainly as his best friend. Pikachu is a very powerful pokemon and has hardly lost a battle. The only time I remember is his first match with Sabrina's Kadabra.
