Finally, this is the last gym. When you have gotten all seven badges, fly back to Viridian City and the mysterious gym will suddenly be open again. There are several trainers inside who uses ground and poison pokemon. Follow the arrows to the gym leader: Giovanni!
Giovanni uses five pokemon: Rhyhorn level 45, Dugtrio level 42, Nidoqueen level 44, NidoKing level 45, and Rhydon level 50. These are all rock, ground, and poison pokemon. Use your Blastoise or Venusaur first to battle Rhyhorn and Dugtrio. Use Hydro Pump and Solarbeam (if you have it). Use a psychic pokemon to fight Nidoqueen and Nidoking. Use Psychic. Use a water or grass pokemon to fight Rhydon. Make sure your pokemons' levels are all over 55.
When you beat Giovanni, he will realize that his past life was a big mistake and will start a new life, full of kindness and goodness. He will give you the Earth Badge and TM 27, Fissure, a move he created himself. Fissure is a normal attack that kills your enemy in one hit. It sometimes misses though. The Earth Badge allows all pokemon of any level to obey you!
