Astrology, the basis of horoscopes, is used to further self-understanding and enhance the use of the gift of free will. The tools used in astrology are based on astronomy, a centuries-old science that studies the movement of planets and their effects on the solar system. Astrology studies the effects of planets on people. It has been used throughout history; astrology once held an important position at royal courts and the houses of other important people. Astrology looks at a combination of the many different planetary influences, the softer emotional drives of the moon, the unique strengths of each Sun sign, and each person's thoughts, habits and self-image. It forecasts upcoming events, but doesn't dismiss a person's ability to control their destiny. It allows people to choose either to prepare themselves or sidestep the occurrence.
