Sabre Draft

Here's a quick rundown of the Sabres draft;

1st Round-(20)BARRET HEISTENLW. University of Maine. 6-1, 190. He's a great skater with balance and agility. Very quick. Good passer from the corners. Has an excellent shot with a quick release. Physical player who can really hit. Will muck it up in the corners. Grit and character. He will make the NHL and be a good player but no star in the making.

2nd Round-(35)MILAN BARTOVICLW. Plays in Slovakia. 5-11,180. He is a fast skater who can handle the puck. Plays a finesse game. Good skills. Offensive player. Quick shot and is dangerous around the net. Smart. This guy sounds like a Satan clone. Will add offense in a few years.

2nd Round-(55)DOUG JANIKD. University of Maine.6-1,200. He is a big player who can skate as well. Good passer. Has some offense and will start the transition. Tough player who can hit. Will stick up for teammates. Hard-worker who likes to compete. He should eventually be a solid 2 way NHL defensemen.Sounds like a good 3rd.

2nd Round-(64)MIKE ZIGOMANISC. Kingston of OHL. 6-0, 185. Deceptive skater who can dominate in 1-on-1 situations.Is a great playmaker who can be a premier player when paired with a sniper. Uses his teammates. Good positioning. Could be a good offensive center the Sabres crave. Was once thought of as a 1st round pick. Good pick at 64.

3rd Round-(73)TIM PRESTONLW. Seattle of WHL. 5-11, 190. Can really skate and has good speed.Tenacious forechecker. Good penalty killer. Causes turnovers. Hard-worker who plays physical. Effective both ends of rink. Good role player for Buffalo.

4th Round-(117)KAREL MOSOVSKY.

5th Round-(138)RYAN MILLERG. Going to Michigan St.

5th Round-(146)MATT KINCHD. Offensive defensemen in junior.

6th Round-(178)SENEQUE HYACINTHELW.

7th Round-(206)BRET DECECCO. Junior scorer.

8th Round-(235)BRAD SELF.

9th Round-(263)CRAIG BRUNEL. Tough guy.
