BSB Plan Worldwide Premiere of IWITW Video
From: MTV.com
Backstreet Boys fans starved for a fresh glimpse of the fellas will soon be appeased.
The Boys' new video, "I Want It That Way," will make its world premiere on May 5 on MTV's "Total Request Live." The video will be the group's first from its upcoming album "Millennium" and will give fans their first taste of new material since the group's breakthrough, 1997's "Backstreet Boys," which sold more than 10 million copies.
The single hit radio recently, and the band shot the video in Los Angeles three weeks ago with director Wayne Isham (the man behind Ricky Martin's "Livin' La Vida Loca," 98 Degrees' "The Hardest Thing," and, back in the day, Motley Crue's "Home Sweet Home"). As we previously reported, the Boys took to Los Angeles International Airport to shoot the clip, which promises to be heavy with performance footage.
The video premiere will be the first in a string of Backstreet MTV appearances, which will include "Backstreet Boys Favorite Videos," turns on "TRL," and a live concert special titled "Backstreet Boys Live." The Backstreet avalanche will flow throughout May with the group's many appearances coming before "Millennium" hits stores on May 18.
*~NOTE~* aw yeah, the Millennium is coming closer and closer...
NEW Release Date For BSB CD
From: Hitmakers.com
Kudos to JOE RICCITELLI & Team Jive for a truly historical week, with 165 multi-format out-of-the-box adds for "I Want It That Way". An add means that a radio station picked up the song and started to play it.
Most songs by big-name artists get about 100 "adds" their first week out. But IWITW was so successful that 165 radio stations started to play it the first week it is released! This was an all-time record for top 40 radio!
*~NOTE~* ahhh...gotta love that song...check it out along w/ lyrics here.

New York, NY ... After selling over 27 million albums worldwide in over 48 countries, the Backstreet Boys are set for a worldwide release of their highly anticipated third album, Millennium, on May 18, 1999. The first single from the new album will go to radio in early April. In order for the Backstreet Boys to accomodate a worldwide release, the vocal group has decided to delay the start of their worldwide tour to June 2nd, 1999. Stagehand Sues BSB For $3 Mil
MANASSAS, Va. (AP) - A stagehand filed a $3 million lawsuit against the pop group Backstreet Boys, contending he was injured by a 50-pound cannon that fell on his head.
Michael Barrett, 22, filed the lawsuit Tuesday in Prince William County Circuit Court seeking damages from the five-member group for injuries and emotional distress. Gary Exner, another stagehand, was also named as a defendant.
Exner could not be reached for comment and band spokeswoman Sonya Muckle did not return a phone message or respond to a faxed list of questions.
Barrett, of Alexandria, was working backstage at Nissan Pavilion after a concert July 16.
A line suspending the cannon - a stage prop that fires confetti - was untied after the show, "causing it to descend to the stage below at great speed," according to the lawsuit.
Backstreet Boys released its first hit single, "Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)," in 1997.

BSB Talk About Writing Songs For Their New Album
Source of article:
MTV Online http://www.mtv.com
The Backstreet Boys are still plugging away at their new album, recording
partly in their hometown of Orlando, Florida, and partly in Sweden.
For their next effort, the Boys say they're attempting to write some of the
songs themselves.
"There's a song that I co-wrote" Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson told MTV News.
"There's a song that Brian wrote, actually two songs that Brian wrote, and the rest of the
guys are finishing their demos so we can all sit down and decide what
we want to put on the album what we don't."
The new album is officially slated for release next April, but
the lads themselves aren't betting on that just yet.
"Hopefully we'll have a single out by late January [or] early February.
And hopefully [we'll] have an album out by, like, March," A.J. McLean said.
"But that's all hopefully. We don't get no dates," Howie Dorough interjected.
"It's all hopefully. We have a lot of recording to do left, just trying to make the album
the best as we possibly can. So we're taking it slowly," A.J. finished.
The Boys are apparently determined to continue flogging their products right down to the final moments of 1998.
The band will appear on the "Billboard Awards" on December 7th,
and have also contracted to grace Dick Clark's annual New Year's Eve show on the 31st.
*~NOTE~* Mmmmmm...OHHHH YOU BET i'm buying their new single and new cd!! OHHHH yah......*~angel~*
