Whips- Whips are one of the coolest looking tricks out there for snowmobiling. It combines style and control to make it the best looking trick there is.

Whats is a whip?

A whip is where the rider gets the sled almost flat on it's side and gets the sled completely sideways at almost a 90 degree angle.

How to do it?

Well whips arent recommended for the novice rider. The rider needs to know how to correct the sled in the air. If you have confidence try doing a little whip on a smaller jump.

You start off by hitting the desired jump and as soon as the sled lifts off the ground press down harder on one of the sliderails and at the same time pull one side of the handlebars closer to you then the other. Now that is how you can get it flat. To get the sled at angle you'll have to turn the skis and turn your head with the skis.

This trick is one of the hardest to do but if you watch the clips over and over again, you'll start to figure it out.

Riding aggresive trails- Some people like to go fast over the huge bumps you encounter on the trail. One of the problems is you get really knocked around sometimes even can fall off the sled.

How do I get through the trail fast without getting bumped around? The technique is the stand up style. Blair Morgan has proved to EVERYONE that the stand up style is the best way to get around a choppy track.

Start of by standing up and looking ahead of you to get ready for the bumps. Get enough speed to stay on top of the bumps as much as you can. When going through the bumps let your knees and arms act as a suspension. Try keeping your feet squeezing the seat so none of the bigger moguls will rebound your feet off of the sliderails. Also try to keep the tail end of the sled from dancing around.

This technique is one of the most important techniques in aggressive trail riding today.

Also I will be getting a example video clip up here soon to see how it works a little better.

Supermans- Supermans are a very cool trick and you can make it look really stylish at the same time. Also the superman is not a very hard trick either.

How to do it?

Start off by standing up. When the shocks compress, have your legs ready to let go. Immediately after the sled gets off the ground let your legs go to the back of the sled and you can extend it by letting your arms extend.

As soon as you have your legs stretched out, pull them back while finding the sliderails. When your feet are on the rails make sure they are in proper place for the landing and also have your body ready for the landing.

How do i make it look more stylish?

You can start by making the nose of the sled go higher than the tail end of the sled. Also it is cool to take a glance at the croud or whoever your doing it for.

NAC NAC- The nac nac is an awesome trick to do. It combines style, control, and balance. I've never seen anybody do it on a snowmobile except me and I do crappy ones. A good nac nac is when the rider steps of the sled itself.

How do I do it?

Well you can start by hitting a big jump because you'll need a lot of airtime. As soon as the sled gets off of the ground take your right leg and throw it clockwise over the seat. It's just like stepping off of the sled. After your leg is extended bring it back and try to get your foot in the appropriate place for your landing.

How do I make it look more stylish?

There are so many ways to make the nac nac look stylish. The easiest way to make it look cooler is to follow your foot with your head. Another way and a harder way is to pitch the tail end of the sled out a little and then do the nac nac and then bring it back.

Here is a picture of Jeremy Mcgrath doing one and he also uses those tips on how to make it look more stylish.

AIR CORRECTIONS- In order for you to go big and do tricks you must be able to know how to correct the sled. Correcting the sled varies from having the front end of the sled up too high, the tail end up to high, or even having the sled wanting to tip in the air.

How do I correct my sled when my front end is too high?

Sometimes the front end gets higher than you want it off of a jump. This causes for a very hard landing and/or the rider falling off. You have to be quick when correcting this. As soon as you can fell the front end wanting to float up just simply grab the rear brake and lock up the track. This causes a gyro effect and will automatically start to bring your front end down. If your sleds front end wont come down as fast as you'd like it to just lean all of your weight to the front of the sled while the track is locked up. But you have to be quick because if the front end gets high enough, you sometimes cannot correct it.

How do I correct my sled when the tail end is too high?

As I said earlier, you have to be quick. As soon as you notice the sled is going into a nose dive just hit the gas and hold it while leaning all your weight to the back of the sled. But if your not quick you cannot save this!

How do I correct my sled when it wants to tilt in the air?

This is a important one. A lot fo the snocrossers need to learn how to do this one because each time i watch the not as skilled guys they land on one ski and their hands get ripped off the handlebars. This happens sometimes because they hit the jump in uncharacteristic form or because of the jumps face.

As soon as you may notice the snowmobile is starting to get a little sideways take your foot off of the sliderail and put pressure on the foot that is on the sliderail.

(EXAMPLE)- If the right ski is higher than the left, take your left foot off and turn the skis to the right while putting pressure on your right foot.

I have only seen a couple people do this on the wsa circuit and one of them is Blair Morgan. I think he has proved that he is the smoothest rider out now, and this method works for him.

No footed Can Can- This is one of the most popular tricks on the WSA circuit to this day. It can be made into a combination trick, which is two tricks at once, and can also stylish.

How do I do this trick?

It's rather simple. It is also a lot easier to do by starting off by doing a can can. As soon as the sled gets off the ground simply take your right leg and put it over the seat towards your left foot. When you think it's ready to pull your foot back, pull it back and make sure you have it in the proper place for the landing.

Now, that was the regular "Can-Can". A no footed can-can is the same way as the regular one except you take your left leg off and have it pointing the same direction as the right foot.

What other tricks can I combine this with?

You can combine this trick with any other trick you can do, just make sure you are ready and have lots of air. The most popular tricks I've seen this done with is the heel clicker and the superman. I don't think it is possible combining a whip it with a no footed can-can, but we'll see how deep Morgan's bag of tricks is!
