The History of SFT
Something
For Tuesday were formed back in the depths of the 20th century in
early 1997. They were originally from Lincolnshire and had all met each other
at school. They soon realised that putting together a band was easy as pie and
so they did it! After a few weeks of practice and crafting of their own
inimitable style they were ready to be unleashed on the unsuspecting
Lincolnshire public.
They then
went on to play numerous gigs throughout the county including playing at local
festivals in the summer. In the summer of 1998 Luke, the bass player, went
travelling round the world while a few of the band got rid of some nasty little
things called A-levels! Do not fear though because April 1999 signalled Luke’s
return and the band’s rolling into action again. After a short while they had
turned into a very good local band, in fact they were the best local band (!),
as was proved by them winning the Battle of the Bands! In the summer of 1999
they worked their ass off earning money and writing new tunes in order to move
to London in September 1999.
Now they
are based in North London and have played a few select gigs to the London
public. They are preparing themselves for the final battle when they will go
all out to take over the world… well at least get some major interest in
London!
Their music
is a new mix of funky trip-hop, jazz, drum & bass and ambient styles. It is,
at the moment, instrumental but the band are always bringing in new people to
work on the project and the possibility of vocalists and MC’s has been
considered. They have recorded several demos at North London studios with James
Dring producing the band to ensure that they can obtain their own unique style.
Look out for SFT as they set the ball rolling and start to show the UK music scene what it’s been missing!
