Chapter 4: The Battle
A black cloud covered the ground, and an invisible force pulled
a card from Izuyu's grasp. When the card reached the cloud,
it grew into its true form: the Stealing card. It had looked
hideous as a card, and in real life it was an eyesore. "Hey,
bro," it said to the cloud, which took a similar form. "Yo,
wassap?" said the Evil, high-fiving it. "Thanks for
joining me. Everything's more efficient with a partner."
"You're not going to get anything done!" yelled Izuyu.
"Well, kid," said the Evil, "I am the spirits
of Alex the Great, Napoleon, Hitler, and¡K Hitler all rolled
into one and ready for revenge! And I'm gonna get it! Plus,
I have help, and who do you three think you are that you think
you can beat me and my partner? You know we'll win,"
"'Boast not of tomorrow, for you know not what any day might
bring forth'," quoted Sukura.
"Anyway, why are we yellin' at each other? Let's get down
to business. Even though we will win, might as well get rid
of you."
"About time, too," said Izuyu. "I was getting
impatient."
Slowly she drew out her card. She called out,
"Sun, Moon,
Release¡Kthe Light,
And all of the power which it holds¡K!
RELEASE!"
The card glowed white, hovering in midair for awhile. Then with
a burst of light, it appeared to explode. The Light card shot
forward and cut a hole through the Evil. Light had white skin,
pale gold hair, and purple eyes. Then she turned around and
shot again, this time they caught her. ('They' referring to the
Evil and the Stealer.) A dark blob shifted around for awhile,
then the Light burst forward. This continued for a while, until
Izuyu noted that the Light card seemed to be flickering dimly.
"Li," she cried out, "take out your sword!"
"Uh, OK¡K" he said, drawing out his sword. The
Light card saw this, smiled, and zapped towards him. He held
out his sword in defense, and the Light card apparently absorbed
herself into the sword. Li stared at the sword, which was literally
swirling with energy. Then the Light card released herself,
fully recharged, and attacked again. "Hey," said Sukura.
"You could've asked me to use the mirror card!" "Umm¡K
I forgot about that," said Izuyu.
Eventually the situation looked pretty much hopeless. It was
obvious that Izuyu's Light card couldn't fight alone. "I
know it," said Izuyu. "Something is gonna happen.
I just know it."
Apparently, Izuyu was right. The Light card confined herself
to build up her power. The Evil and the Stealer started to mutter
among themselves, then the Evil formed a hole in the ground,
which at the bottom of the deep chasm, there was a pool of black,
swishy liquid.
"I told you, didn't I?" asked Izuyu. "That's a
pool of pure disintegration. Anything that falls in there shall
be destroyed."
Then the Stealer lunged out at them without warning.
"AAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!" They all yelled, holding out
their arms in defense. The Stealer swished around them, and
Li was hoping with all his heart that Sukura would be OK. When
the Stealer drew back, Izuyu said, "Well, I guess that nothing
-- ACK!" She clutched her heart, wincing as though she
was in great pain. All of a sudden, Li and Sukura felt the exact
same way; they felt an indescribable pain hit them in the heart
and head. When the pain faded off, they noticed that they all
had lockets on. Sukura's was a pink crystal flower on a chain,
Izuyu's was a blue and silver yin-yang on a chain, and Li had
a small green wolf on a pin. "These are our Life-Lockets,"
explained Izuyu, in response to the surprised looks. "They're
our lives in a small form. If they get destroyed, we're dead
meat." She shook her head. "I really gave my cards
too much power." (Can you guess what happens next?) Then,
the Stealer lunged at them a second time. This time, when he
drew away, they all felt¡Kempty. Then Sukura gasped, "Our
lockets!" Yes, the Stealing card had stolen their precious
lives.
"Heh, heh, lookin' fer these?" sneered the Evil, holding
up three lockets. "You give those back!" yelled Li.
"Ha, like I'm gonna?" scoffed the Evil. Then he held
up a locket on a chain, above the pit. A pink crystal flower
winked at them. "Bon voyage, Cherry Blossom," the
Evil said, dropping Sukura's locket (now this is a cliffhanger!).
"NO!" yelled Li, jumping into the pit. Sukura clasped
her hands to her mouth. Li caught the locket, and then grabbed
the side of the pit. Izuyu looked over, and threw down the Band
of Magic, which Li grabbed onto. When his feet touched land
again, he lost no time in giving Sukura her locket back. She
didn't say anything, but she didn't really need to. Izuyu's
Band of Magic got the other lockets, returning them to their
rightful owners. "Hmm¡K My card is back on the battlefield,
but I think that we're gonna need the strongest cards to help
out," said Izuyu. Her other female companion had a solution.
Slowly and clearly Sukura called upon the Four Elements. Windy,
Watery, Fiery and Earthy came out and fought alongside the Light.
Realizing her strategy, Li used his sword to call upon Lightning.
Then (that phrase is becoming regular, isn't it?) Izuyu put her
Band of Magic in a circle about the size of your monitor. In
a clear voice, she recited:
"Sun, Moon,
Seal the Stealer, Seal the Evil,
And the evil and power which they hold¡K!
BE SEALED!!!"
"NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" yelled the
Evil and the Stealing as they were sucked and confined into a
pair of cards: the original Stealing and a black, blank card.
However, Izuyu did not take them, instead the circle was filled
with an electric-like golden aura. Suddenly, Li and Sukura saw
that Izuyu was trying to destroy the two -- an impassible force
and her own creation -- via her own magic. The two shrank for
a split second, then they would grow back to their original size.
Sukura and Li knew what they had to do.
Sukura focused hard, and soon a pink aura surrounded her, as
with Li, only green. She raised her staff high, and then struck
it down, two rays, green and pink sliced the air, and hit the
circle.
With this added energy, the Evil and the Stealer fought even
harder, but the trio just added more. Finally, the two shrank
to mere nothingness.
And the three 11-year-olds that had just destroyed the most powerful
being in the world and his partner, and who had just saved the
entire planet from being equivalent to wiped out, collapsed on
the ground, facedown.
Finally, Izuyu looked up. "Huh?" she whispered. "¡KDid
we¡K win?"
Sukura looked up. "Yeah, I guess we did."
