Author's Note: Heylo! This is my first fanfic, so don't get
all pissed off or
anything if I get something wrong. I'm a major CCS fan, but this
story might
be REALLY lame in the end. I had writers' block and couldn't
think of a
better way to end it, and I know it ends so soon. And my title
stinks, I
know. Also, if you're confused, the *********** are flashbacks
into her
memory. After you read this, if you have ANY comments, thoughts,
questions,
flames, spitballs or rotten fruit for me, send it to XxTomoyo143xx@aol.com.

of these, so

THE BEAUTY CARD
"Ladies and gentleman, we have a new transfer student from
Paris," said Mr.
Terada.
Syoaran stopped gazing at Sakura's face, and so did she. They
had gotten
together a few months ago, and their love hadn't wavered at all.
"This is Jenny, a French-Japanese girl. Let's give her 10th-grade
style
applause from Tomoeda High School!" Mr. Terada joked.
Rika groaned, and Jenny stepped in the door.
Syoaran blinked.
An aura had entered...a powerful aura surrounded her.
A Clow card type power.
Syoaran looked at her, and at her revealing shirt.
Syoaran's eyes popped out, and he bit his lip.
Sakura scowled.
But Jenny looked human.
"Bonjour! I am pleased to be here," she said, flashing
a brilliant smile.
Several guys swooned.
"Jenny, how about you sit next to Syoaran, who is sitting
behind Sakura.
Syoaran, raise your hand, please," said Mr. Terada, and
Syoaran tentatively
raised it.
Jenny seemed familiar to him, somehow.
But he had never met a French girl named Jenny.
Jenny smiled warmly at him, and he felt himself melting at the
white teeth,
and blond-white hair.
Sakura turned around and rather imprudently said, "He's
my BOYFRIEND, ya
know."
Syoaran blushed, as Jenny raised an arched eyebrow.
Syoaran thought that he and she had met.
Of course, it might've been his father or mother that had met
her, and passed
the feeling along to him.
But that wasn't that possible, was it?
Syoaran sighed.
Jenny asked, "What's wrong, Li-kun?"
Syoaran blushed red again, at being referred to as LI-KUN.
Sakura was at the restroom, so Syoaran was safe from being murdered.
"Oh, nothing."
Jenny said again, "Li. Is CLOW REED your ancestor?"
Syoaran's mouth dropped open.
"How do you- "
"Oh, he's just an OLD friend...of our FAMILY," Jenny
said, and her lip curled
as she said family.
She turned around, her back facing Syoaran, and began to flirt
with Yamazaki.
Yamazaki's mouth dropped open at the attention.
The soccer practice, the boys discussed how pretty she was.
At cheer-leading practice, the girls discussed how she looked
jealously,
sneaking glances at the Locker Room where she was changing into
a uniform.
At Lunch, she practically had to fight her way through the mob
she was
surrounded by, to sit at the table where Syoaran, Sakura, Naoko,
Rika,
Chiharu, Yamazaki, and Tomoyo were eating.
Syoaran and Yamazaki gasped when they saw her make her way to
their table.
Yamazaki stared at her and Syoaran tried to not notice her.
They made conversation, and when lunch was over, she had to go
home early,
for hospital shots.
Sakura and Syoaran walked home together, and they were chatting.
The subject of Jenny turned up, and Sakura made Syoaran promise
to NEVER
leave her, for anyone, especially Jenny.
"Can she be my friend?" Syoaran asked.
"Yes," Sakura said bossily.
"Like Naoko and Chiharu and Rika," She added.
Syoaran arrived at his apartment after dropping Sakura off, only
to find
Jenny there.
"Ya know, Sakura's going to kill me and you if you keep
on hanging around me
like this,''' Syoaran said.
''Don't worry. She'll NEVER find out.'' Jenny said in a rather
evil voice.
Syoaran shivered, slightly.
Syoaran ran inside.
Jenny ran home.
********
''I hate my life. Even though I am a magician. . .I hate my life!''
A little
girl repeated over and over.
She said aloud, ''I bet being a CARD is better than my life!
I hate my life!"
The little girl sobbed, her thin body shook with every breath
she took.
Suddenly she had an idea.
********
Jenny stood up, dazed.
The memory disappeared as she went inside her house.
Syoaran was brooding over a math problem, and the image of
Jenny kept popping
up.
''She is weird. VERY weird. The Clow card sense. I sense her
aura as a Clow
card. ''
Syoaran shook his head, and the Algebra problem took over his
mind.
''Four squared times y-variable divided by eighty-two is..."
********
A little girl crept into a room, where a man was sleeping.
She took some tools, a card, and several magic potions.
********
Jenny walked home, after a night at a dance club.
She had loads of fun, watching three men fight over her.
Jenny entered her room, and changed into her nightgown.
Jenny intently stared at herself in the mirror, and she saw the
image of when
she was 100 year ago...a little girl.
********
The little girl was in an alley, boiling up a potion and adding
ingredients.
********
Jenny yawned and woke up.
For a millisecond, she wondered where she was, and why she was
here.
''The mission to be complete with the Cardcaptors,'' she said
aloud.
Jenny felt a pang of pain, and groaned, clutching her stomach.
Suddenly, she felt as though she was sweating, and she was.
''Someone help me all this pressure in my head..." Jenny
said.
She fainted.
The next morning Jenny showed up to school late.
Everybody was staring at her, and for once Jenny didn't want
the attention or
spotlight.
When she had regained conscience, it was morning, and she barely
had any time
to choose clothing, so she was wearing a long-sleeved shirt that
didn't go
very well with the fall weather, as it was still scorching.
Her face was pale without the usual makeup, and her lips were
nearly white
and chapped, as she had not taken the time to put a bit of lip
gloss.
She was dozing quietly during Science, and was surprised to see
Mr. Terada
standing over her.
''I understand you may be jet-lagged, but there is no excuse
for falling
asleep in class. That goes for all of you,'' Mr. Terada said,
glancing at
Sakura.
Sakura blushed, because she was always caught sleeping during
school and
having dreams.
Mr. Terada warily put his hand on Jenny's forehead, and jumped
back in
surprise.
''Jenny! You're burning up! No wonder you're so sleepy! I suggest
you get to
the office now!!"
Jenny lazily stood up, but crumpled down to the floor in a heap.
There was a rather shocked silence as she was lying on the floor,
eyes closed.
''S-Syoaran t-take her t-to the o-office,'' Mr. Terada said,
trembling.
Nobody had ever fainted in his class before, and he was unsure
what to do.
Syoaran grunted, and with help of Yamazaki, the limp Jenny was
heaved on his
back.
Sakura frowned.
She couldn't help it; she was jealous of the special attention
Syoaran was
giving Jenny.
And Sakura had never gotten to ride on Syoaran's back!
Being rather jealous, Sakura never thought about how tired Jenny
felt.
Naoko said fearfully, ''I heard if you faint in class, you'll
be cursed for
the rest of your school days!"
Rika ignored it because Naoko was always being superstitious
and said, ''She
must be so tired! I feel so bad for her; we weren't that nice.''
After awhile Syoaran came back, rubbing his shoulders.
Sakura 'hmphed' and pointedly avoided Syoaran's eyes.
Syoaran shrugged and when the bell rang, he walked off with his
soccer
friends, leaving Sakura's lower lip trembling and tears in her
eyes.
It was break time, so she ran to her friends, blubbering.
''You guys!! Syoaran broke up with me! He's fallen for Jenny!
Sakura cried.
Rika and Chiharu exchanged looks.
Tomoyo ran to Sakura and hugged her, comforting her.
'It's okay, Sakura. Did he say he wanted to break up with you?''
Tomoyo
questioned.
''No. He won't look at me!!'' Sakura said pitifully.
Tomoyo understood how much she was hurt because Syoaran was the
most popular
boy, and losing him would practically mean the end of her ego.
Tomoyo said, ''Don't worry. I'll go talk to him during soccer."
The bell signaling the end of break rang, and the mass of students
outside
began to file inside, back to class.
''I'm so...sorry, sir. Please...don't punish me...'' Jenny
murmured.
The head of the infirmary bustled over to her, and found Jenny
lying on the
cot, eyes barely open.
''Rest, sweet child,'' said the nurse.
She felt Jenny's forehead, and said, ''You're fever is down."
Jenny's eyelashes fluttered open.
********
The little girl silently gave a prayer to her parents in heaven
and drank the
whole potion from the cauldron. Meanwhile, the man she had stolen
ingredients
from was silently approaching her.
********
''PASS IT TO ME, LI!!'' shouted a boy, who was by the goal
post.
Li, who was focusing on dribbling a ball, kicked it far, and
landed neatly
in front of the boy who had shouted.
Tomoyo, still in her cheerleading outfit comfronted Li.
''Have you broken up with Sakura, Li?'' Tomoyo asked.
''Huh? Of course not! Why?'' Li asked, confused.
''She thinks you love Jenny. That's why,'' Tomoyo explained.
''Why would I like Jenny? Or love Jenny? I mean, Sakura may be
a little
overpossesive sometimes, but Sakura's better than Jenny. Jenny
just says
she's a family friend, and she is. That's why. I mean, it's just
nothing. I
just know her. Okay? Happy, now? I gotta go change,'' Li said,
and walked off
to the locker, taking his shirt off even before he got inside,
showing his
muscles and sweaty back.
Tomoyo grinned and sprinted back to the girls locker, where Sakura
was
waiting anxiously.
''What did he say?'' Sakura begged, and Tomoyo told her everything.
Sakura sighed in relief, and they walked off to music.
********
The man who had stalked the small girl comfronted her right after
she drank
the potion, running into the alley, trying to stop her. The little
girl
simply smiled, and she began to transform.
********
Jenny stood up.
''I think i'm okay, now,'' she said.
''Are you sure?'' the nurse asked.
Jenny nodded and practically ran out of the office.
She walked to the classroom for homeroom, and found everybody
applauding.
Jenny mock bowed, and went to her seat by Syoaran and Sakura.
Sakura turned around and half-smiling said, ''Here's the stuff
you missed...I
wrote it down for you. ''
Jenny replied a thanks, and thought 'Progress! She's nicer...if
only...'
But her thoughts were interupted by Mr. Terada dismissing them.
********
''YOU CAN'T DO THIS!!!'' screamed the man. Apparently, he had
arrived too
late. The little girl vanished and was replaced by a card. It
read, 'The
Beauty'. The man straightened up, his mouth a grim line. He said
aloud, ''I'm
sorry. Must you know this is against the law of...nevermind.
I'll have to set
you free.'' He raised a staff-like object, and swirling lights
went out of
the card, and the little girl came out of the card. But she wasn't
a little
girl anymore. She was a beautiful young lady.
********
Jenny quietly followed Syoaran and Sakura, who were walking home,
talking.
Syoaran dropped Sakura home, and began the trip home.
As soon as Sakura had shut the door, Jenny strode up to Syoaran.
''Syoraran. I really need to talk to you.''
Syoaran groaned.
''Can we go somewhere private where I can talk?'' Jenny pleaded.
''The ice cream shop.''
''Can you at least listen to my story? I came all the way to
Japan just for
you and Sakura! ''
Syoaran stopped.
''What? You didn't even know I existed...unless you know about...Clow
cards?"
********
The man ripped the card up, and chanted a spell. The young woman
was forever
stuck in the world. And she was now not a human. The Beauty shrilly
screamed
at the man. The man explained she was stuck like that...until
everybody
accepted her as who she was. The man was Clow Reed, ancestor
of the Li clan.
The young woman was Jenny.
********
Syoaran and Jenny were in the ice cream shop, and Jenny explained
everything
to him.
''It all started a few hundred years ago...I think. I was a poor
little girl,
but I was granted the power of being a magician. Clow Reed trained
me to
handle the cards. He was a genius, really. Knew everything. But
what he
didn't know was the poverty I was in. I was starving, but that
stupid man
didn't even notice. He was just obsessed with the cards,'' Jenny
said
bitterly.
Syoaran nodded, and Jenny went on.
''I started hating myself. For being poor. For being born into
a world where
my mother would dump me into an orphanage, who kicked me out.
So I got the
idea that being a card was better. I stole the ingredients I
needed, and I
stirred up a potion that would make me into a card. Clow Reed
created the
cards the same way, but when he made them it was safer. I drank
the potion,
and made myself into the Beauty card. That's why...you might
notice...i'm so
pretty."
Syoaran said, ''You got that right."
''Anyhow, Clow Reed found out. So he found the card on the floor,
with me
trapped inside it. In my ten-year-old mind, I didn't know that
being a card
ment being like a genie...coming out only when someone made me,
and being
stuck inside the card. Anyhow, he got mad, so he set me free.
But he cast a
spell that only magicians could break. Since I wasn't a human
anymore, I was
a card, not a magician. So I couldn't break the spell. The spell
was that I
was trapped outside of a card, not inside. I cannot go into a
card until the
spell breaks."
Syoaran asked, ''But wouldn't it be better to be outside than
inside?"
Jenny groaned.
''I would've thought that you knew more, having Clow Reed for
an ancestor and
all. But since I am not a human, my duty is to be in a card.
For Clow Cards,
it is a punishment to be chained into the human world. Sometimes
I get weak
and faint from using so much power to be human-like. If I could
be in a card,
then you would see my true self. But nobody can just capture
me like a
regular card; I'm already captured. Do you get it?''
Syoaran nodded.
''I'm really about three hundred years old,'' Jenny added, smiling
as Syoaran
whistled in awe.
''Well, okay, but why are you telling me this? I mean, it won't
do much good?
I can't help you be a card, I mean,'' Syoaran said.
''No, you can help me because you are a Cardcaptor. You and Sakura,
I mean.
The spell has to be broken when the Cardcaptors in the world
trust me. Clow
Reed made that spell because he thought no one would trust me.
For lying,
stealing, and breaking to magic law. All you have to do is truly
trust me.
And Sakura. But no luck in that."
Syoaran thought hard.
''Can't you explain to her like you did to me? ''
Jenny shook her head.
''No. For some reason, I think that she doesn't trust me SO much,
that she
won't be able to understand. She still thinks I like you,'' Jenny
said, and
rolled her eyes.
"Can't I explain to her?'' Syoaran persisted.
''No; it won't work like that. She has to believe for herself.''
''Well Jenny, do you want to come to my apartment?'' Syoaran
asked.
''Are you trying anything?'' Jenny asked, raising one of her
perfectly
plucked eyebrows.
''N-no!! Of c-course not! Are you silly?'' Syoaran stuttered.
Jenny laughed.
''Sure, I'll go. I need to rest, and my landlord is getting suspicious,''
Jenny said, yawning.
Syoaran and Jenny walked home, chatting happily.
They stopped in front of his house, and climb the stairs to his
room.
''This is a really big house. Do you live alone?'' Jenny asked
as she
surveyed the area.
''Yuh-huh. Just me and the housekeeper, but she only comes here
twice a week
to vacuum,'' Syoaran replied.
''Oh, I see. Lonely?''
''Not really. I keep busy by practicing moves with my sword,
and the
loneliness sort of gets pushed out with my concentration,''
Syoaran said,
opening a bottle of soda pop.
''Have some. I'll get a cup,'' Syoaran added, and went to the
kitchen.
Jenny relaxed for a second while Syoaran was gone, and some of
her body began
to change.
''EEK!!'' shouted Syoaran.
Jenny tensed up again, and her body changed back to a human.
She ran to the kitchen and found Syoaran on the floor, and about
a hundred
cups by him.
''Syoaran!! Good thing these are plastic; they would've broken!''
Jenny cleaned up and Syoaran nursed his sore arm, moaning.
After ten minutes of cleaning, Syoaran gave her a cup with soda
pop in it.
''That was an easy job, wasn't it?'' Jenny joked, and slowly
sipped the drink.
''Why were you late today? Or, this morning?'' Syoaran asked,
as he drank his.
''Huh? Oh, I fell unconciounce the night before. It was nothing,
I was just
tired from keeping my human form. Clow Reed made me promise to
look like a
human always, but he didn't even think about how tiring it can
be,'' Jenny
answered bitterly.
''Can you show me your Clow Card form?'' Syoaran asked.
''I could, but I wouldn't. It's against the Magic Law that Clow
Reed
made...and it would be...rather inappropriate."
''Could we trick Sakura into trusting you?'' Syoaran asked hopefully.
''Its not against the magic law, but I don't think it would work.
Syoaran,
TRUST is not just another five letter word that you can buy or
sell. It has
to be real; pure. It has to come from deep within your heart."
''But couldn't we just give her a little...push?"
''I guess...tell me about your plan," Jenny said, smiling
that rather wicked
smile she had.
Syoaran leaned toward Jenny and whispered plans into her ear.
The next morning, Syoaran walked to school with Sakura, who
had outgrown her
roller blades.
''I hope you don't think there's anything between Jenny and me...we're
just
old family friends. Beside, I don't like the French,'' Syoaran
said.
''Really?"
''Yuh-huh. We...we were in a war...French and Japanese! Yup,
yes, there was a
war!!'' Syoaran lied.
He thought, ''Great, I'm turning into a Yamazaki. A lying machine."
Sakura suddenly hugged him.
''Do you...trust her now?'' Syoaran hopefully asked.
''Sorta. I mean, I never really hated her. I was just jealous
of her.''
They arrived at the school.
Jenny was nowhere in sight.
Suddenly Syoaran had a feeling he hadn't had in ages.
''Sakura...I sense a Clow Card,'' he said quietly.
He knew it.
The plan had worked.
''Really? I do too...let's go!"
Sakura got out her key and it turned into a staff.
''LET'S GO DOWNTOWN!!'' she shouted, and hopped on her staff,
which now had a
set of large wings.
Syoaran jumped on, closely followed by Tomoyo, who had seen them.
''I'm not missing this!'' Tomoyo exclaimed.
They flew high above downtown, and spotted a rather confused
area of people.
Sakura flew down and landed neatly in front of a building, and
they asked
someone what was going on.
''People are changing! They're getting so pretty!!'' cried a
man, running
toward to place.
No doubt he was looking for some women.
Syoaran climbed up the building and arrived at the roof. Sakura
and Tomoyo
were already there, because they had flown.
Syoaran said, ''This is the work of the Beauty Card!"
''Are you sure?'' asked a confused Sakura.
''Yep. Force it to show itself!'' Syoaran said.
''SHOW YOURSELF, BEAUTY CARD!!'' Sakura shouted.
A wind blew, and the Beauty appeared.
Syoaran, Tomoyo, and Sakura gasped.
Sakura immediately tried to cover Syoaran's eyes, but he had
seen enough.
The beauty card was naked, with long flowing hair covering her
chest and
underwear area.
She had huge eyes and was floating in midair.
She was pretty...and almost perfect in every way.
She flew around, and her hair blew, and Syoaran blushed at the
sight.
Sakura got mad.
''RETURN TO YOUR POWER CO-ONFINED!!!'' Sakura shouted, and with
bright light
the Beauty card went into a Clow Card.
The card slowly floated down to a fuming Sakura.
''The Beauty card must make things beautiful not a very practical
card, but
must be nice,'' Syoaran said, and silently said good-bye.
That was the end of Jenny.
Not entirely, of course.
Sakura's eyes widened as she looked more closely at the Beauty
and screamed,
''JENNY?!?!?!?!?!"
