Chapter 1
" " quotes < > thoughts
“Class today we have a new student. You can come in now,?Sensai
announced. The class all murmured about how the new student would be
like. “Her name is Xiao Mei Li. She’s an exchange student from America,?
Sensai introduced. She had long, silky, black hair that reaches all the way
down to her waist. She tied it into two pigtails. Her eyes were dark blue.
The boys were staring at her beauty. Xiao Mei looked around to see what her
classmates looked like. When she saw a silver haired boy (Yuki) looking out
the
window, her head stung for a second. Then he saw her. His eyes widen.
<No, it can’t be, but could it really be her?>
It was break, and to avoid being squashed by boys attempting to flirt
with her, and girls asking her questions she quickly left the class room
without anybody noticing her. "Touya, why don't you go ahead, I have some
things to do," Yuki said.
"Let me guess, you're gonna try to find that new girl and ask her out
like everyother boy in this classroom," Touya predicted.
"You only got that half right. I'm not gonna ask her out, but I am going
to find her," Yuki said.
"Suit yourself," he grunted, and walked away. Meanwhile, Xiao Mei, was
looking around her new school. . Then she started to walk toward a fence
that divided the line between West Wing and Northwest. <That's where he
should be.> Then her thoughts were interrupted be Yuki saying franticly at
her, "Xiao Mei, is it really you? I mean we haven't seen each other for a
long time! Don't you remember me? All those games we played like Sticks and
Stones, or those little funny contests like who can spin the longest without
falling on the ground."
"I'm sorry, you might have been mistaking me for somebody else. Now if
you excuse me, I'm having a headache, so I can go back to the classroom?" she
said.
"Wait, just one more question, and I'll leave you alone," Yuki said, .
"Fine, once I answer it, I'm gone," Xiao Mei muttered.
"Do you have a star shaped star on one of your palms?" He asked.
"Yes I do," she answered showing it to him, "Now I must go." <It really
was her, but why? Why did she forget about me? I know it's been years, but
she promised me.> At lunch Touya was getting worried because of the fact
Yuki ate his lunch like a normal person, so he asked, "What happened at break
between that new girl and you?"
"It's a long story," Yuki replied.
"And this is a long lunch, so spill it," Touya ordered.
"It started when I was six years old. I just moved here from another
district. I was alone at first. Then Xiao Mei moved next door. We became
friends very quickly, owing to the fact we have the same thing that's been
swimming in our minds constantly: Loneliness. We played games, and made up
contests. Then, one day she told me she was moving to America. We promised
never to forget each other and our friendship. When she left, I realized I
liked her, and yes Touya, I do mean the affectionate kind of like, but it was
too late, I couldn't tell her the way I feel. Now she forgot about me. When
I tried to tell her that I was that old friend, she had no idea who the heck
I was. I'm sure it's her because she had a scar that has a resemblance to a
star on her palm. It was like a birthmark," he explained.
"So technicly you guys are like an item?" Touya asked.
"Knuckle head, I never told her the way I feel, and she doesn't remember
who the heck I am, how on earth do you expect the fact that we're an item!"
Yuki raged.
"All right Romeo, Gomen. Maybe she needs some memory jogging. Why don't
you and I find her tommorrow and you try to return her memory of you, tell
her how you feel while I try to help you," Touya suggested.
"Thanks," Yuki said. Meanwhile at West Wing, "Syaoran, what's wrong?"
Sakura and Tomoya asked.
"I sense powerful magic nearby," he answered.
"Are you sure it's not Sakura?" Tomoya asked.
"I'm sure it's not Sakura's because it's coming from Northwest high
school," he replied.
"Maybe it's Yue," Sakura suggested.
"No, it isn't because I do not see Yukito anywhere, and the source of the
power is near by, very close," Syaoran said. Then he saw Xiao Mei watching
him and his friends from the fence. "Hey, you guys, don't you think it's
weird how that girl's staring at us?" he asked. Then Xiao Mei took out a
long card. It had a symbol of a sun and moon. It had a symbol that belongs
to a Clow Card, not a Sakura Card, a Clow Card. The three gaped at it. They
didn't see which card it was, since she's only showing them the back. Xiao
Mei was smiling as a few tears rolled down her cheeks. "Who is she? And Why
is she crying?" Sakura asked. Syaoran didn't answer. He ran toward Xiao Mei
as fast as he could, determined to know why she had a Clow Card.
To Be Continued.
