Chapter 16

It was a wonderful welcome home bash. Everybody forgot about their
troubles. But then, Mei had a very concerned look on her face. She was
deep in thought. ¡§Mei! What¡¦s the matter?¡¨ Sakura asked.
¡§Hmm? Oh, nothing, just thinking¡¨
¡§This is a time when you shouldn¡¦t be thinking of problems. This is a
time when you should party!!!¡¨ Sakura cried. Mei smiled weakly, and joined
the party. After the three days of rest and unpacking, everything was back to
normal. ¡§Touya, do you think I can talk to you for a second?¡¨ Mei asked,
when it was break.
¡§Sure¡¨
¡§Umm, well, do you happen to know, to know, anything about, about
the fact that, that........uh¡¨
¡§The fact that Sakura capturing the Clow Cards with the Chinese
kaijuu, and that she spent a whole lot of energy trying to turn them into
Sakura Cards?¡¨

¡§That stuffed doll that Sakura carries around everywhere is actually
alive, and protecting Sakura from danger.¡¨

¡§That Yukito is Yue. Yeah, yeah, I know all that¡¨

¡§Again?¡¨ he didn¡¦t look happy. Mei explained everysingle thing that
happened. The stones, the legend, the trip, the whole shaboozy. ¡§Uh huh, so
now you¡¦re fighting off monsters. Great, does Sakura know that I know all
this stuff?¡¨

¡§Oh that.....when Yuki and I were little, we called eachother
nicknames. I had a special nickname, and he did too. Mine was Mei Mei,
and his was Toto. It¡¦s surprising what they mean in Chinese¡¨
¡§What?¡¨
¡§Mei Mei means Pretty Pretty¡¨ Touya snorted.
¡§Don¡¦t laugh! Do you want me to call you Ya Ya? That means Teeth
Teeth! (author note: don¡¦t go saying to everybody that part of Touya¡¦s name
means teeth. It only sounds like teeth in Chinese, so I used teeth. Why not
other words, cuz I dunno any that sounds like ya!).¡¨ Then his face was back
to normal. Touya did not like the idea of being called Teeth Teeth.
¡§Toto means bunny bunny¡¨
¡§Wa ha ha ha ha ha ha! Gomen! Gomen! But that was waay too
funny!¡¨
¡§What is soo funny?¡¨ Yuki asked. Touya jumped. He stopped
laughing.
¡§Touya might tell you. Anyway, we have swimming class next. Oh
well, bye Toto, bye Mr. Teeth.¡¨ Mei whispered the nicknames, so the other
boys won¡¦t hear. During the whole dang school year, she became real
popular. It was kind of hard trying to talk to Yukito and Touya because they
were guys. ¡§Why do hang around with Yukito and Touya? Do you like
them? Plus, after school you always wait for some group of 6th graders at
West Wings.¡¨ Zhang Li asked.
¡§Yukito was a childhood friend.¡¨
¡§Oooo, someone¡¦s gotta boyfriend!¡¨
¡§Don¡¦t get any ideas, I have no affections for him.¡¨
¡§Whattabout Touya?¡¨
¡§No way, something tells me, it¡¦s not fate to be with him.¡¨
¡§But he¡¦s athletic, cute, smart, and he can cook, play the piano, and
lots of other things!¡¨
¡§Oooo, you like him don¡¦t you?¡¨
¡§No....no way....he teases way too much. I¡¦m only pointing out the
goodness he has. I didn¡¦t point out that bad stuff yet.¡¨
¡§Well, do you like someone at West Wing? You always hang around
with some group of 6th graders.¡¨
¡§No I don¡¦t. Why I hang out with them? Long, long, long, long story
of which I don¡¦t want to tell. Come on, swim class starts, we have to get
changed.¡¨ When they reached the locker rooms, gossip starts. ¡§Mei, do you
have any guy that you have affectionate feelings to?¡¨ Zhang Li asks.
¡§Yeah, don¡¦t you have any guy you like?¡¨ Sarah asked.
¡§Get off my back ladies. When I like a guy, I¡¦ll tell you,¡¨ Mei
answered. <Like I¡¦ll ever tell you. The whole school will go ballistic.
Gossip will start running faster than the speed of light.> ¡§Ohhhhhhh! I¡¦m
going to kill my sisters!¡¨ Mei shouted.
¡§What¡¦s wrong?¡¨ Zhang Li asked.
¡§When I went to Hong Kong, took my bathing suit with me. They
must¡¦ve switched bathing suits on me for a practical joke.¡¨
¡§What¡¦s wrong with it?¡¨
¡§This is what¡¦s wrong¡¨ Mei said as she held up for Zhang Li to see.
¡§Whoa, talk about taste. Your sisters really do have good taste.¡¨
¡§That¡¦s the problem. If I wear this, all the boys will stare at me!

too skimpy!¡¨ <Ooooo, Mei Wu, Mei Ra, Mei La, Mei Lu, I¡¦m going to kill
you the next time I see you.> Slowly, Xiao Mei stepped out of the locker
room in her bathing suit.
