CHAPTER 2: THE TALENT SHOW

{Sakura's mind}

"Today class, we will be choosing partners for our talent show contest. I will do everything like last year. Each person will come up and pick a name out of this hat. Then they will read it out loud, go to the table, which your partner is sitting at. Then wait for the drawing to be finish. When everything is over, you will go up to this table. Then you will pick one of the sheets and fill them out at home. Tomorrow the forms will be handed to me and remember it's first come first serve. So, finish the sheets according to what you want to do for the talent show. Remember to ask your partner on his/her's opinion too", said Ms. Mackenzie all in one big breath.

Students came up to the hat and picked their partners. Sakura was one of the people to pick out a partner from the hat. "Come on. Madison. Madison", thought Sakura. She picked out the little slip of paper then opened it up to read it. "Li Showron", said Sakura in a totally amazed voice. Sakura quietly walked back to her desk next to Li. Then, Eriol came up he picked a slip of paper. There was only two left. He picked a slip out and read the name. "Madison Victory", said Eriol quietly. He then went down and sat next to Madison. The last person was Zadery Magnates. He was the ugliest person in the class. Meiling despised him. There was only one person left though. Meiling. So Zadery Magnates took out the piece of paper and read it proudly. "Meiling Murin", said Zadery simply looking like the happiest person on the Earth. "NO. Not him", said Meiling disgustedly. "Anyone but him", yelled Meiling. Sakura almost laughed. She stopped herself just in time as Meiling threw an evil glance at her. "Ms. Mackenzie. I'm sure Sakura's willing to trade partners with me. Sakura", said Meiling as sweetly as she could. "I would", said Sakura as she thought about Zadery singing with her. She wanted to barf and tell Ms. Mackenzie that she didn't want Zadery as a partner. "Meiling. You know the rules. You get the partner that picks your name or the name you pick. That is it. No trading partner", said Ms. Mackenzie in a strict voice. "But¡K", Meiling begun. "No is no, Meiling. Now you might want to consider talking over the talent show with your partner", said Ms. Mackenzie. "Phew. Ms. Mackenzie really saved the day. Think of me singing with Zadery", thought Sakura. Then she turned to Li. "How about we talk this over at your house", asked Sakura as she looked to the clock with was one minute to 4 PM. It was almost time to go home. "Sorry, I can't today how about your house. My mother is having friends over", said Li. "Ok", said Sakura. "My driver can drive us there", said Li. "Oh no. It's okay. I can just walk. Maybe Meiling will like a ride though", said Sakura. "No. I'll walk with you then", said Li. "Well, you don't have to if it's too much trouble", said Sakura protesting. "No. It's not really", insisted Li. "Ok. If you say so", said Sakura as the bell rang. "See you at the front of the school", Sakura shouted to Li. "K", said Li.

4:05 PM at the Murin/Avlon house

Li and Sakura were in her tiny room discussing the talent show. The both agreed to singing. Now all they needed was to pick out a song and both sign the permission form. Meiling wasn't home to bother them since she was over at Zadery's house to pick their talent. Sakura couldn't help but feel sorry for Meiling. "How about "At the Beginning"", suggested Sakura. "Ok", said Li. Then, they went on Sakura's computer and went to www.songlyrics.com. At that site they found the lyrics to "At the Beginning". "Hey, let's go over to Madison's house. She has this song on tape so we can sing to it without listening to the words", suggest Sakura. "Ok", said Li. "Well, let's go then", said Sakura heading out of her room. The couple walked down stairs to the front door. Sakura and Li both putted on their shoes then headed for Madison's house (which was about 5 blocks away).

Panting Li and Sakura halted to a stop in front of Madison's house (which was more like a huge mansion). "Wow. It's almost as big as¡K", started Li. "As big as what", asked Sakura puzzled. "Oh, just this one house that my car passes every morning", said Li quickly not trying to look too suspicious. "Oh. Do you mean that big mansion on 10th street", asked Sakura. "Yes", said Li. "Oh no, that house isn't bigger. Madison's is the biggest in this state", said Sakura as she rang the loud doorbell. It seemed like people living miles away could hear the big DING-DONG DING-DONG noise from the doorbell. Suddenly the sound stopped. From the door came out Madison. "Sakura. Come on in", said a surprised Madison. Inside the mansion was huge. They followed Madison to her room, which was probably bigger then, ten of Sakura's rooms combined together. "Wow", whispered Li, but Sakura had heard him. "It's grand isn't it", asked Sakura. Eriol was in the room. "Oh. Hi Sakura", he said cheerfully. "Hi, Eriol", said Sakura. Sakura paused. "Um. Madison I can leave if your busy", whispered Sakura into Madison's ear. "Oh no. Not at all", whispered Madison back. "So what do you guys need", said Madison louder. "Oh. We need your tape of "At the Beginning". The one without the lyrics sang in the song", said Sakura quickly before Li had a chance to answer. Madison went to her huge shelf and pulled out one CD. "Here you go", said Madison. Then she paused. "Oh, and you can go into the Music room. Sakura you know where it is right", said Madison. "The Music room. Huh. Is it the one with all your musical things", said Sakura hopefully. "Ya that's the one", said Madison as Li and Sakura headed out.

{Li's Mind}

The least I could make out was trading something. Then Sakura came back and sat next to me. "How about we talk this over at your house", asked Sakura. "It was almost time to go home and I can't let her see my Mansion. I haven't gotten a apartment yet", Li thought. "Sorry, I can't today how about your house. My mother, is having friends over", said Li. "Ok", said Sakura. "My driver can drive us there", said Li. "Oh no. It's okay. I can just walk. Maybe Meiling will like a ride though", said Sakura.
