Chapter 30-The Time Dimension Machine

BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! The heart machine kept
humming instead of beeping. Yukito’s eyes widen with tears flowing down
his cheeks. “Mei...............” he cried.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

---
Note: From this point on, this will be from Mei’s point of view until you see
those dotted lines above this message again.

“Where am I?” I wondered. It was pitch black. Far away, there was a
bright light in the shape of a door. “It’s your time to go Mei,” a sinister
voice
said.
“Who are you?” I stared at the darkness.
“ME!” the monster shouted. It pounced on me. Thanks to my martial
arts skills, I dodged it, and managed to kick the monster’s butt. The bright
light was very near me. “The light’s so warm. Maybe it’s the
exit..........Wait
a minute, this is a doorway to heavan, but....it feels peaceful.....” I
sighed.
“Go on Mei, you don’t even have enough energy left to continue on.
Come on, go through that door, you’ll be better off there,” the slimy
wretched
monster coaxed. I took one step inside the door, but somehting held me back.
I felt that it wasn’t my time yet. Suddenly, I was pushed, and I feel through
the doorway. I was almost a gonner if I hadn’t hung on to that ledge on the
door. I felt weak, very weak, I couldn’t hang on much longer, especially
when the monster is stomping my fingers. Thoughts of my friends and family
flooded through my mind. No, I couldn’t, I would never accomplish my
dreams, I would never be together forever with Yukito, I wouldn’t see my
little brother grow up, marry Sakura, and annoy Touya. I have to live,
everybody’s waiting for me. I HAVE TO!!! Suddenly, the crystal blazed and
blinded the monster. “I HAVE TO AND NO ONE’S GOING TO STOP
ME!!!” I cried out. Everything went white. That horrible monster went
away. I felt warm and happy. I’m coming back, wait for me guys.............
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

---
It was a few hours after Mei died. Yukito was having a hard time and
Touya was helping him out. Everybody cried. The hospital was filled with
despair, depression, and sadness. Meanwhile, there was a white room where
the hospital keeps people who recently died. Mei opened her eyes to see a
white sheet covering her. “Ow, I still have those injuries,” she muttered.
She
sat up to see where she was, and next to her was a dead body.....that was
dead, and will always be. She shrieked to see where she was,
“EEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!!! AAAAAIIIIIIIIEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!
AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
AAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!” The doctors, nurses, secratary, and
the whole gang ran to the room to see what happened. “Oh my lord, I can’t
believe my eyes,” the doctor said.
“This is a miracle! This is a medical history,” the nurse gasped.
“History shmistory! Get me out of here! I worked real hard to get
back here, and I have to sleep next to a dead guy?!” Mei cried. Yukito
stopped crying, ran towards Mei and hugged her so tight, she almost
suffocated. Everything went fast. There was joy, there was medical history,
there were TV reporters, and journal guys everywhere. “What was it like to
be dead?” one asked.
“Death shouldn’t be mocked, so I leave no comments. All I can say is
that I’m glad that I earned my second chance to be with the ones I love,” she
answered.
“What do you mean by ‘earned my second chance’?” another asked.
“This is one thing, I have to seal my lips from, no comments,” Mei
answered. The journalists and photographers bothered them until she was
exhausted and fell asleep. Because of all the racket they made, they were to
pay Mei’s hospital fee. When she was well again, Yukito did not leave her
side for a second except for bathrooms, dinner, family, etc. Now, Yue would
usually go to Eriol’s house to spend his naps or reading, or whatever card
guardians do these days. Halloween never really existed in Japan, so let’s
skip that holiday.... Now Christmas, Christmas is a holiday that definately
exists in Japan, or at least in Cardcaptor Sakura Japan. Anyway, there was a
Christmas Fantasia dance at the park that West Wing and Tomeada
University was hosting. Everybody was so excited. It was after school, and
snowing. Syaoran was secretly trying to buy a present for Sakura. After
hours and hours and hours of looking, he found the perfect present. It was a
diamond cherry blossom barret with some pink and green silk strings hanging
down in the bottom with tiny miniature bells that went tinkle tinkle. <That’s
perfect, perfect, perfect, just the right thing, I wonder how much it
costs........it’s going to cost me my life’s allowence that’s what, anything
for
Sakura, so I guess I’m going to have to start with $0.00 all over again.....>
Syaoran bought the barret and hid it, so Mei can’t barge in and see what he
bought for Sakura. For desperate measures, he placed a guard spell on it.
Eriol however, was trying to create a Christmas present. <What would
she like best? Hmmmm............> he thought. A golden bracelet was formed.
<What should be on it?.............> another though came. Gems of all
different
colors immediately appeared on the sides of the bracelet. <What
else?.........>
Then blue and purple silk strings with tiny miniature bells on one of the ends
attached themselves onto each jewel on the bracelet. <No, not bells.....> the
bells disappeared and small crystals of stars, suns, and moons replaced them.
<Much better, now to ask her...........if she feels the same way about me...>
Yukito, Yukito, what can I say about him? Hehe, well, he’s doing the
same thing except he’s probably using money rather than magic. <What
should I get her? She already has a necklace, I don’t want to get her a
bracelet, or barret. I want something special for her, but what?> Yukito
pondered long and hard. Then he saw something in a glass case. <That’s it!>
he immediately bought it, and decided to ask her to the dance.
Let’s all look at West Wing first. It was snowing, and everybody was
toast and warm inside the classroom. Tomoyo was happily talking to Eriol.
“Isn’t it going to be great? The Christmas Fantasia will be such a success.
It
would be even better if I even get a date,” Tomoyo smiled.
“Yes that would be better,” Eriol muttered as he reached for his
pocket.
“Is there something you want to tell me? Maybe you want help to ask
the girl you like out. I can help! Just name it, and I’ll matchmake it!”
she
offered.
“All right.........then,” he said as he took out the box, “Would you go
to
the Christmas Fantasia with me?” He opened the box and gave her the
bracelet. Tomoyo’s eyes widened. Sadly, the closed her eyes and replied,
“I’m sorry, I don’t know what to say really.” Eriol frowned a little.
“I’ll give
you your answer tomorrow,” Tomoyo said. Eriol forced a smile and said,
“Would you at least take the bracelet? I made it out of my magic. Even if
you don’t say yes, think of it as a Christmas present from friend to
friend.”
Syaoran and Sakura saw it, and well, how could they not help but to barge in?
During break, Eriol and Tomoyo went their seperate ways. Syaoran joined
Eriol as Sakura joined Tomoyo. “Cheer up Eriol, I know she’ll have an
answer for you,” Syaoran said.
“You’re a good friend Syaoran,” Eriol replied.
“Hopefully before you are about to leave to England,” Syaoran added.
“Or maybe you’re not the friend I think you are,” Eriol laughed. They
talked about Christmas, presents, girls (Tomoyo and Sakura), and stuff, I
dunno, just stuff. Not let’s roll on to Tomoyo and Sakura. “Oh, Sakura, I
don’t know what to do. Part me wants to say yes, but the other part says that
he’s not the right one,” Tomoyo said.
“Tomoyo, I have known you as long as I can I remember. Eriol is
perfect for you (unfortunately, CLAMP never gave a thought they would
make a perfect couple). Go with him, heck, we can even have double dates
together. You and Eriol and Syaoran and me!” Sakura suggested. Tomoyo
went home with mixed feelings. She’s happy that someone out there cares
for her, she’s sad that if she doesn’t like him, she doesn’t want to hurt his
feelings, and she’s depressed that she can’t find her answer. When she got
home, she sat on her bed staring at the bracelet he gave her. Flashbacks came
of how nice he treated her (well not really, just pretend he did), how his
smile
was always nice and warm. Tomoyo smiled and found her answer.
Eriol and Tomoyo avoided eachother for the day. “Should we walk to
the park?” Tomoyo asked.
“Yes,” he replied. When they arrived, Eriol knelt down and held her
hand. “Tomoyo, I like you very much, and I would like you to be my date for
the Christmas Fantasia,” he proposed.
“I will,” she answered smiling.
“Does that include being my girlfriend?” he asked.
“Yes!” she laughed. Eriol picked her up and spun her around in his
arms. Happy, that’s all I could say, happy, everything was great. Ahem, you
know, all because Sakura and Syaoran are boyfriend and girlfriend, doesn’t
mean that they could go to the Christmas Fantasia with some other person.
Tomoyo and Eriol were talking. “Syaoran needs to get his nerve and ask
her,” Eriol said.
“No kidding, and I know just the perfect plan.............” Tomoyo smiled
slyly. The next day, Eriol and Syaoran were sitting on a tree, having some
guy to guy talk. “Have you asked Sakura out to the Christmas Fantasia yet?”
Eriol asked.
“No,” Syaoran replied blushing. Then class started. Tomoyo and Eriol
were smiling, Syaoran was blushing, and Sakura was clueless.....as usual, no
I’m kidding, she was just plain clueless. When lunch came, Eriol came up to
Sakura’s face and asked, “Sakura, would you like to go to the Christmas
Fantasia with me?”
“HOE?!!!” she shouted.
“NANI?!!!!!” Syaoran screamed.
“Well Syaoran, you haven’t asked her. If you’re not taking her, than
I’ll take her. She is after all, a kawaii little cherry blossom,” Eriol
said.
“What about Tomoyo?!” Sakura asked.
“What can I say? She doesn’t feel the same about me that I once felt
for her. Like they always say, there are plenty of fish out there in the
sea,” he
replied. Syaoran pulled Sakura away from Eriol, grabbed her shoulders and
kissed her in front of everyone. “Sakura, will you go to the Christmas
Fantasia with me?” he asked.
“Yes,” she gasped and blushed.
“I guess our work is done isn’t it Eriol?” Tomoyo smiled.
“Hoe? What work?” Sakura asked.
“Eriol was just acting. Syaoran couldn’t get a single nerve to ask you,
so we had to do something,” Tomoyo replied.
“Tomoyo, are you with Eriol now?” Sakura asked.
“Yes, yes, we are......” Tomoyo answered blushing a little.
“Great! Now we can all double date,” Syaoran smirked. Yay, we
throw all the confetti. Everything’s right. Hold on though, we haven’t
explored through Mei and her friends. Poor Touya, he has no date, and he’s
not soooo desperate that he’ll go with Nakuru. He was bored though, so he
decided to play the same game that Eriol and Tomoyo did with Syaoran. It
was lunch, so he had plenty of time. “The Christmas Fantasia is coming up,
and I have no date, and I’m definately not going with Nakuru, so Mei, has
anyone asked you to the Christmas Fantasia?” he asked.
“No,” she answered glancing toward Yukito.
“Would you go with me then? I mean, no one asked you yet,” Touya
asked. Mei and Yukito’s eyes widened. Mei was very clever though, and
knew what Touya was up to. “Sure Touya, no one did ask me, so first come,
first serve......” she smiled slyly. FINALLY, Yukito got the picture and
groaned, “Very funny guys.”
“You know Yukito, you shouldn’t take Mei for granted,” Touya said.
“He is right, for a minute there, I thought that I was really going to go
to the Christmas Fantasia with Touya,” Mei added.
“You mean, she wasn’t a part of this joke?” Yukito asked.
“Your girlfriend was very clever to know what I was up to, and joined
in without you noticing. So are going to pop the question or am I going to
the
Christmas Fantasia with YOUR girlfriend?” Touya grunted.
“Gomen Mei, to take you for granted. Would you forgive me and go
to the Christmas Fantasia with me?” Yukito asked.
“Of course silly!” she said and hugged him.
“Please, you are not helping me feel better. I have no one to go with to
the Christmas Fantasia.......” Touya muttered.
“Don’t feel bad, you can come with us. Don’t worry, when Yukito and
I need to be alone, we’ll let you know......” Mei cheered. NOW, everything
is happy, throwing confetti, party, etc. On Sunday, the Christmas Fantasia
started and everybody was there. Everything was so beautiful, especially
when the snowflakes fell. “Everything is so pretty!” Sakura said.
“You said it,” Syaoran added hugging her from behind.
“Yeah,” she smiled turning her heads towards him and kissed. Eriol
and Tomoyo just held hands. Still, Tomoyo recorded Sakura with her free
hand. Mei was in the middle of Touya and Yukito and she was wrapping her
arms around both their necks. Everybody was having fun. Music starts
playing and we see screenshots of them playing games, eating, toasting
marshmallows, and having the time of their life. It was evening and the dance
had started. Tomoyo, had made Mei, Sakura, and herself specialized dresses
for the dance. The boys just brought their tuxedos. They all changed, and
were ready to dance. Syaoran took out a box and opened it. He gave it to
Sakura saying, “Merry Christmas Sakura. This is for you.” Sakura gasped
and was so happy. Syaoran helped her place on her head. “Would you-” he
started.
“Sure,” Sakura answered. Eriol helped Tomoyo record Sakura dancing
so they could dance. Yukito gave Mei her present. There were two rings,
and each of the rings had a golden star. “Merry Christmas Mei. I was
hoping, that when we graduate, we would start a bakery together, just like
your dream, and start a family of our own. Think of it as a promise ring,” he
said.
“Oh Yukito, that’s so sweet. Yes, I would like that to happen,” Mei
smiled, and hugged him. Poor Touya, all alone...... Not for long though,
Nakuru came pouncing on him. “Wanna dance?” she asked.
“What the heck, it’s Christmas. I guess dancing with you will be your
present,” Touy groaned (REMEMBER, IN MY VERSION, NAKURU IS A
FEMALE, NOT LIKE CLAMP’S VERSION. IN CLAMP’S VERSION,
NAKURU IS A MALE).
“Yay!” she shouted. Three couples dancing, how cute is that?
Unfortunately, the lights went out because of a short circuit. “Oh no,”
Tomoyo gasped.
“You know, this is just like the time you made that horse statue come
to life and wreaked havoc at the festival Eriol,” Sakura smirked.
“You know what to do,” he said.
“Glow Card, I command you to lighten the place!” Sakura ordered.
“This stinks, the Glow Card isn’t bright enough,” Syaoran said.
“I can help you know. Remember, I have another copy of the Clow
Cards, and of course, I converted them into Mei Cards,” Mei smiled.
“Do your thing sis’!” Syaoran cheered.
“Glow Card, assist Sakura’s card in lighting the area!” she
commanded. This time the park was bright enough. Everybody went back to
their dates. “Good job Mei,” Touya smiled.
“Hey, it took Sakura and my card to accomplish it, so you shouldn’t
just thank me,” Mei said.
“Yeah,” Yukito said.
“You think you guys should spill it that you do know that Sakura’s a
cardcaptor, and you know Kero-chan’s a guardian.......or more of a stuffed
animal with a sweet tooth,” Mei suggested.
“We might as well tell her,” Touya sighed. Everybody gathered, and
talked. “What is it onnichan?” Sakura asked.
“So, what’s it like being a cardcaptor?” he asked.
“Mei! You told him?!” Sakura gasped.
“No, I didn’t. Touya and Yukito knew even before I came,” Mei
answered.
“Actually, we pretty much knew since Touya’s been suspicious about
your stuffed toy. What’s its name again? Kero, I think,” Yukito explained.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Sakura asked.
“I didn’t want you to worry so much,” Touya answered.
“Then why are you telling me this now?” Sakura asked again.
“Ask Mei, she talked me into this,” he replied.
“Mei?” Sakura turned to her.
“Because..........I don’t think that we should be hiding this from your
brother and his friend when they already know about this. I finally got the
courage to urge your brother to spill the beans,” Mei answered.
“Well that cat’s out of the bag. Are you still going to let Sakura
continue on her adventures?” Eriol asked.
“With you and Mei, I guess she won’t get hurt,” Touya sighed.
“What about Syaoran?” Mei asked.
“No way will I trust the brat with Sakura,” he grunted. Glare of Death
contest had just started between the two. Everybody sweatdrops. Everything
is fine. Everything is good. The Christmas Fantasia went swell. Syaoran,
Sakura, Mei, and Yukito had their make out sessions at the end, Tomoyo
recorded everything, and Touya really had the urge to beat the **** out of
Syaoran.
Christmas vacation came. Touya and Yukito were working to earn
some money. The rest of the gang was at Eriol’s house. They were having
tea and was just chatting about life. “Hey, has anyone seen Mei?” Syaoran
asked.
“Good point, where is she?” Eriol asked.
“She’s in your lab,” a voice said.
“Yue?” Sakura asked.
“She’s working on some time dimension machine,” he answered.
“How’d she know where my lab was?” Eriol asked.
“I was sleeping in your lab until I saw her. Then I tried to find
somewhere else to sleep,” Yue replied. Everybody rushed towards Eriol’s
lab. They saw Mei hammering some sprials, springs, and nails into a
grandfather clock. “Don’t worry Eriol, I made this clock, so you don’t have
to worry if it’s yours. Gomen about not asking you if I could use the lab,”
sh
said without looking.
“That’s okay, so this is your time dimension machine?” he asked.
“Yep,” she said as she held her book and creating the machine at the
same time. Suddenly, Sakura tripped over some of the circuits, and it caused
a friction reaction, which led to a small explosion. Then there was this
humongous yellow swirly sphere. Everybody backed away, but Mei however
was getting sucked in. “Mei!” they cried out.
“Don’t worry! I’ll get out in no time! I have my magic book! While
I’m surfing the dimensions, try fixing the machine! The blueprints are on the
table!!!!” Mei cried out as she was sucked into a different dimension......
