Chapter 4- Poems
Everyday the boy sat
Waiting impatiently for his return
To his beloved he loved for so long
The promise unkept
And never will
His heart swollen into a deep sour fruit
Knowing that he would never
Keep the promise he wanted to
He had a mission, a duty
To honor his family and it¡¦s respect
Still the boy waited
Until he grown up into a man
Only to lie to his beloved
And keep his swollen bitter heart
Until the end of time
~ Lies ~
By Fuutie Li
It was a true poem. Poor Syaoran¡K Fuutie witnessed
him for so long. He must have felt guilty for lying to Sakura.
But that Fuutie too, had taken part in this, she felt extremely
guilty. She knew how it feels like to be lied, cheated. But
what can she do?
Meilin¡K get her cousin Meilin to talk to Syaoran. They
haven¡¦t seen her since the funeral. And even then,
they did not pass a word. She was chosen for Syaoran¡¦s
future marriage, a marriage she refused to. She was brokenhearted.
Their relationship has never been the same. She never found
another man again.
Broken-hearted the girl may be
But she may be the only one for he
That can cure the boy from his spell
Of lies he always tells
But no she was not
Though beautiful and smart
But another girl with auburn hair
Would tend to the young man¡¦s care
Her warm and gentle smile
Would always last awhile
In the heart of the sick man
But how to get her? I did not plan
Still I have to go to someone without glee
And that person is Meilin Li
(Author¡¦s notes: I am NEVER writing a poem that
rhymes ever again. That turned out weird, and I know ¡§not¡¨,
and ¡§smart¡¨, do not rhyme)
¡§Xialong?¡¨ young Chinese woman asked softly,
approaching her beloved for so long.
Young man ignored her, and stared straight at the empty night
sky.
¡§Why must you ignore me so?¡¨ cried the
bitter heart of Meilin Li.
Still the young man did not stir or turn his head facing the
young woman.
Poor Meilin¡K she had grown from an immature spoiled brat,
into a beautiful, intelligent young lady. She now has short
hair, never tied up, and the same amber eyes; though her looks
had changed into an eighteen-year-old youth.
¡§I knew this was going to happen¡K I never
should have came¡K¡¨ thought the girl, preparing
to leave, but the young man stopped her.
¡§I¡¦m sorry¡K¡¨
¡§Fuutie asked me to come to talk to you. I did not
understand why, though. She told me something about lies, letters
from an old friend, and marriage?¡¨
Syaoran sighed deeply, recollecting his problems, yet chose not
to express his true feelings to the girl who waited his explanation,
the girl he was befriended for so long.
Maybe it¡¦s an illusion, a dream
But whenever the see the face of the young man
Tears fall down my cheeks
The words I could not express
And know I never have a chance
But surrounds me in my deepest loneliness
Until I become a burden to all my surroundings
How I begged for that change to be!
But I know it does not exist
My heart disappeared
And could not be found
Never again
¡§Never again...¡¨ Meilin whispered
faintly to herself, not caring if Syaoran heard or not, but he
did.
¡§What do you mean?¡¨ asked he.
¡§Syaoran, I still love you¡K¡¨
whispered the girl. She spoke of it too quickly, as if wanting
to get it over with, but at the same time, hesitated. She searched
an expression on the young man¡¦s face, but found
there is none.
"... Why do you?¡¨ asked the young man.
¡§I don¡¦t know... I guess I¡¦m
just stupid¡K I¡¦ve been ignoring this for
the past eight years. Still¡K I¡¦ve been
waiting for the day when you would change your mind, and decide
to marry me. But I have been a fool¡K just waiting there
like a sitting duck! Am I a slave!? But then¡K why do
I still love you? Maybe because I never loved anyone else¡K
and you have come first in my heart...¡¨
¡§Meilin... just forget it¡K I¡¦m
sorry¡K but I still feel the same way about you...¡¨
Shock was in the young lady¡¦s eyes, yet
she expected this, but still didn¡¦t see it coming.
How can it be so? After she poured her heart out? He is still
going to treat her the same way!?
¡§Find then ¡¥Xiao¡¦long!
What do you expect? To be with Sakura!? After you broken your
promise to her about returning? She is not going to wait around
forever you know! And neither will I! Good-bye cousin ¡¥Xiao¡¦long!
Good-bye FOREVER!¡¨
¡§Meilin wait!¡¨ cried the young
man, ¡§Sakura¡K she¡¦s¡K
Sakura¡¦s getting married¡K¡¨
¡§What...?¡¨ she asked softly.
¡§Tomoyo sent me a letter, telling me that.
She sent me an invitation, to the wedding. I made Fuutie write
a letter telling her I¡¦m dead¡¨
¡§Syaoran¡K why didn¡¦t
you tell me sooner?¡¨
He strugged his shoulders and turned away, not facing
her.
¡§Go to that wedding!¡¨, commanded
she
¡§What!?¡¨ asked a stunned Syaoran,
now facing her.
¡§You heard me!¡¨
¡§Why?¡¨
¡§Because I say so!¡¨
¡§You can¡¦t make me!¡¨
¡§Don¡¦t be so childish ¡¥Xiao¡¦long!
Now I know why aunt Ieran named you ¡¦little¡¦,
you are little, you act little, and as little as you act now,
you will never live up to your potential, because you are trying
to take the easy ways out. But you know what cousin ¡¥Xiao¡¦long?
You¡¦re pathetic! You¡¦re a wimp!
You can¡¦t even tell Sakura why you¡¦ve
ignored her all these years! No wonder why she left you for
another guy!¡¨
A grand speech! It leaves anyone, even Syaoran, enough
guilt and is persuaded to does anything one demand for.
¡§Have it you way Meilin!¡¨ shouted
the young man.
Meilin left the room, with a smile across her face. Never
had she stood up to Syaoran, in all her life and disagreed with
him. She felt proud, not to mention happy, happy she could help,
even to someone who left her brokenhearted all these years.
To be
