Chapter 1: My Princess

Sweet laughter. So sweet. He could die for the sound of her laugh. The way her eyes sparkle when she smiled, and the power that she had. Oh that power! The power to make him feel inside. No one could make him feel like that except her. I love her. I truly love her. Why can¡¦t I tell her?

The bell rang. Li snapped out of dream.

I really got to stop doing this. He thought.

He made his way toward his apartment.

¡§Li!! Wait!¡¨ Someone yelled from behind.

He turned around and eyes of amber met emerald. His heart fluttered. One of his rare smiles appeared on his face. He quickly stopped when he realized what he was doing.

¡§Hi Sakura.¡¨

¡§Can I walk with you? Madison is staying after school to do something, she won¡¦t tell me though.¡¨

¡§Sure.¡¨

They walked in silence for a while. Sakura finally broke the quietness.

¡§Li?¡¨

¡§Yes?¡¨

¡§If you really loved somebody, but you weren¡¦t sure if they felt the same about you, would you tell them anyway?¡¨

Li began to blush.

¡§Umm¡Kuhh¡KWell I guess that if I really, truly loved this person, I would tell them, regardless of the way they felt about me. It would be so much better than keeping it in and never knowing how that other person felt.¡¨

¡§Really?¡¨

¡§Yea¡K¡¨

¡§Well then Li¡KI love you. I have always love you, and I don¡¦t know how you feel, but like you said regardless I¡¦m glad I told you and I¡¦m sorry if this makes you feel a little awkward because you¡¦re walking home with me.¡¨ Sakura drew in a deep breath. She held her breath without knowing it.

¡§Sakura¡K¡¨

¡§Yes¡K¡¨

¡§I¡KI...I gotta go.¡¨ Li ran into his apartment and closed the door behind him.

Sakura was left standing on the sidewalk. All she could do was stand there and think to herself ¡¥I bet he hates me now¡¦. She walked home more depressed then ever. A tear trickled down her face.

¡¥I never should have told him¡¦ she thought quietly, opening the door to her apartment and walking in, closing the door behind her.

¡¥Are you an idiot? She just told you she loved you, and what do you do? You ran into your apartment. Stupid, stupid, stupid! She must hate you now!¡¦ Li thought to himself. He slapped himself on the forehead in frustration.

Sakura drew her knees up and hugged them. She felt like crying. A single tear slid down her cheek.

7:30 a.m. Sakura was late as always. Usually she would have sped to get her things ready, but today¡Ktoday she got up and sat on her bed. She didn¡¦t feel like going to class. She didn¡¦t feel like hearing a lecture, but most of all she didn¡¦t feel like seeing Li. She couldn¡¦t bare to see him, not after what happened yesterday.

¡¥I wonder where Sakura is. She¡¦s always late, but never this late¡¦. He suddenly felt lonely. The day seemed too long without Sakura there to brighten it up. Finally the bell rang, and school ended. Thinking over and over about what Sakura had told him yesterday, he found himself outside her apartment door. ¡¥What am I doing here?¡¦ He knew what he had to do. He lifted his hand to knock but the door suddenly opened.

¡§Li?¡¨

¡§Uhh¡KSakura.¡¨

¡§What are you doing here?¡¨

¡§Well you weren¡¦t in class today, and so I came over to see if you were okay.¡¨

Sakura smiled at him. Li blushed slightly.

¡§I¡¦m fine, is that all?¡¨

¡§Well actually I came over here to tell you that¡Kwell¡K¡¨

He couldn¡¦t find the right words. Actually he couldn¡¦t find any words. He froze and stood there staring at her.

¡§To tell me that¡K¡¨

Li drew in lots of air and quickly said, ¡§That I love you¡Ktoo.¡¨ He said it so quickly he was almost gasping for air. He looked at her to see her reaction.

She stared at him in astonishment.

¡§You do?¡¨

¡§Yea¡Kof course. I think I loved you when I heard you laugh. When I saw your beautiful eyes, when you¡¦re hand would casually brush mine, and when you would look at me and smile. Your presence would give me warm feelings inside. Feelings no one else could give me. You have touched my heart in ways, no one else has. Sometimes I feel as if you were put on this earth for me. Sometimes I feel as if you have fell from heaven, an angel that has fallen, and god let me keep you here. You have this power over me that makes my heart smile. I really love you Sakura.¡¨

Sakura beamed. Her heart felt like it would leap out of her chest. Without knowing it, she threw her arms around Li and whispered in to his ear, ¡§You make my heart smile too Li.¡¨

Sakura pulled back, and stared into the amber eyes that belonged to her love. Tears were brimming on her eyes. Li reached up and brushed them away. They felt as if nothing else was there. The only thing that mattered was them. The world had stop turning and everything froze.

They were both sitting on the couch. Sakura had her head rested against Li¡¦s chest. Li was stroking her cheek. Sakura yawned, and fell asleep. Li carried her into her bedroom and set her down on the bed. He walked to the door, closed it and walked back to the bed. He laid himself down next to her and put his arm around her and too fell asleep. Somewhere in his sleep, he felt her arm slide around him and embrace him back.

Sakura awoke, feeling the sun streaks on her cheek. She felt something warm around her and suddenly smiled. She turned to face Li, and smiled. She looked at him, and stroked his cheek with her finger. His eyes fluttered open and he stared back at her, and smiled. The look in her eyes said it all. They belonged to each other.

Li was glad that is was Saturday, he could spend the whole day with Sakura.

¡§Did you have a nice sleep?¡¨ Li asked Sakura, stroking her hair.

¡§Of course I did, you were here.¡¨ She answered, smiling.

¡§I¡¦m glad I told you¡Kand I¡¦m glad that I¡¦m here with you now.¡¨

¡§I¡¦m glad that you¡¦re glad.¡¨ Sakura said.

¡§Come on, let¡¦s get up.¡¨

They both got up and ate breakfast together. They decided on going to the park. They could sit there and not be bothered.

¡§I love you Li.¡¨

¡§I love you too princess.¡¨

¡§Princess?¡¨

¡§Yes¡Kprincess¡Kmy princess.¡¨

Sakura smiled and hugged him.

She slid a hand behind his neck, and pulled him in for a kiss. Li was surprised but gave in. The feel of her lips on his was amazing. Her lips were so warm and soft. They broke loose and hugged each other. Not saying a word, for they knew what the other was thinking without having to say it. They walked back to Li¡¦s apartment and ate lunch. The phone rang, Li went to answer it.
