My Love Has Turned Around: Chapter One-The Call
It was a dark and gloomy morning when Sakura Avalon woke up with a smile on her face.
"Oh, Kero, I had the most wonderful dream last night!" Sakura turned around to see that Kero wasn't there, but that her window was open. She wnet to her window to see............Kero working out!
"And one and two and one and two."
"Kero are you............working out?!"
"And one and two and-oh hiya Sakura. Yeah, I was working out. You know that new Playstation2 is out and I heard it's really hard, but you know nothing is too hard for me."
"Oh, Kero, you're so funny," Sakura said, but then realized,"hey you better get inside before it starts to rain or someone sees you!"
"Awwwwwww alright. I'm getting hungry anyway." Kero said, flying inside. "Hey, Sakura, are we having pancakes for breakfast today?"
"Uh, I think so."
"Alright!"
Sakura was dressed in a matter of minutes and hurried down stairs. It was the day before Sakura's first semester as an eigth grader, and Sakura had just had her thirteenth birthday on April 1st. On her way down, she could smell the delicious smell of pancakes on the stove.
"Hiya dad." Sakura said.
"Good morning, Sakura." said Mr. Avalon as he flipped over a pancake.
"'Morning Squirt." Tory said whil scarfing down pancakes.
"Tory, stop calling me 'Squirt.' I'm already thirteen years old!"
"Yeah, but you're still small enough to be one." Tory retorted.
"Grrrrrrrrrr...you just wait! I'm gonna grow very soon!" Sakura said as she slammed a pancake onto her plate.
"Yeah, you come and tell me when you've grown at least three inches and I'll stop calling you 'Squirt.'" Tory said as he dumped his plate into the sink and headed out the door to go to his day job at the restaraunt in the aquarium.
"Oooh I'll get him when he least expects it!" Sakura said under her breath.
"Now you two be nice." Mr. Avalon interrupted,"So got any plans for today as it is the last day you are a 7th grade student?"
"Um, I don't know. I might go to Madison's house later today or I might just stay home and watch a movie or something."
"Well, whatever you do is fine with me as long as you call me if you're going out so I don't worry o.k.?"
"O.k."
"Well, I'm off to work. I'll be home around 8:30." Mr. Avalon said as he bent down to kiss Sakura on the forehead.
"Alright, dad, see ya later." Sakura called after him as he went out the door. When the door closed, Sakura sat back and thought to herself: Wow, what a wonderful life I have. How could anything go wrong? Then she heard Kero's voice,"Hey Sakura, your dad gone yet? I'm starving!"
"O.k., Kero, I'm coming!" Sakura yelled up stairs to Kero as she loaded up some pancakes onto her plate and headed upstairs. Sakura and Kero were eating peacefully when Sakura heard the phone ring. She picked up the receiver to answer it.
"Hello?"
"Sakura?"
"Oh, hi, Madison. How are you?"
"Just fine. Say, would you like to come over today and go shopping for your anniversary present?"
"My anniversary pres-oh yeah! How could I have forgotten that tomorrow will be Li's and my three-year anniversary? Oh, thank you for reminding me! Sure, I'll be right over as soon as I call my dad and tell him."
"O.k., see ya."
"Bye."
As Sakura hung up the phone she couldn't help but think to herself: How could I have forgotten that I have to buy Li an anniversary present. Geez, three whole years we've been together. And what a wonderful three years it has been........
"Sakuar! Sakura! Yo, earth to Sakura!" Kero yelled as he tried to get Sakura out of her dream land.
"Huh? What? Oh, sorry Kero. Did you say something?"
"Yeah, who was that on the phone?"
"Madison. I'm going to go over to her house and shop for an anniversary present for Li."
"Oh yeah, I forgot that you and the kid were still together. You know I still think he is a bad kid. Yup, a bad kid alright........"
"Kero, get over it already." Sakura said, rolling her eyes,"I need to call dad, though, o.k.? And you can come along if you want." She said while dialing the phone.
