Chapter 3
Devyn walked home, the day lying heavily
on her mind. What did Sakura
and Syaoran do? Why couldn't Sakura tell? Devyn was swamped in
questions
about the accident. A light little corner in her brain had the
memories
of all her new friends but they were blocked by Sakura's accident.
Devyn
shook her head, trying to clear it of thought. She arrived home
and
quickly went to bed.
Devyn woke suddenly. She turned her blurry gaze to her indi-glo
alarm
clock to see that it was midnight. A strange presence surrounded
her.
But it mainly pointed to her window. Suddenly, a board appeared
on her
bed spread along with a sword, scabbard, and some small pieces
of paper
with Japanese writings on them. Devyn not too clean about what
was going
on picked up the sword and placed it in the scabbard, which she
had
swung over her back diagonally. She tucked the pieces of paper
into her
P.J. bottoms. She looked down at the last item on the bed. The
board
that looked an awful lot like Chinese checkers. She snatched
it up and
tucked it between her back and sword. She had everything. She
looked out
her window towards the point where this strange feeling felt
the
strongest. A glow was emitting from the park down the street.
That was
her destination. She hiked up the pants and silently crept out
of the
house to see what this sense was.
