Chapter 4

The cool night air was chilly on Devyn's bare arms. She rubbed them
quickly regretting her decision to not get a coat. Quickly thinking of
heat, Devyn tried to warm herself up, found it useless, and started
running towards the penguin park. Her bare feet slapped the pavement,
jarring her whole body. She stepped on a rock and flew to the ground in
pain. She stifled a scream and looked down at her foot. It had a decent
sized whole where the rock was wedged. Blood seeped slowly from the
wound, staining the sidewalk. Thinking quick, Devyn yanked to rock out
and tore of a strip of her P.J. pants. Devyn very gingerly wrapped her
foot and stood back up. She hopped slowly over to the woods on the side
of the road. After a bit of scrambling, she found a decent sized stick
to lean on. With walking stick in hand, she started to hobble back
towards her destination.
As Devyn rounded the corner, her breath caught in her throat. She was
going to pinch herself but the pain in her foot caught her attention. It
wasn't a dream. Standing in front of her was...
It was Sakura. She was dressed in the outfit that Tomoyo had shown her.
She was hurt. Bad. Her arm was bloodied along with her side and thigh. A
wand with a bird figurine at the top lay a few feet away as if Sakura
had dropped it. But what really caused Devyn to doubt the reality of the
scene was what stood in front of the injured girl. It was...a young
girl. Devyn recognized her as Naoko's little sister. She stood holding a
glowing sword. The end was bloodied. Devyn directed her gaze to the
girl's eyes. They were solid brown. No pupil. No white. The girl's
attention was on Sakura. She suddenly lunged, sword outstretched, at
Sakura. The blade pierced Sakura's stomach, causing her to blackout.
Devyn let out a muffled cry. Bad idea. Naoko's sister turned her
attention on Devyn. Devyn saw an evil glare flash through her eyes.
Instinct caused Devyn to draw the sword hanging on her back. As Devyn's
hand firmly grasped the hilt, a masculine voice said in her head,"
Welcome new member of the Li clan. I am Syaoran Li. Your mission is to
help Sakura capture the Clow Cards. Until I get back. And after I leave,
tell Sakura that I love her. I don't think you quite know what you are
doing, so I will help." Devyn pulled the sword in front of her in the
guard position. As she did so, a presence over took her. It took a
second for Devyn to realize that she was fighting. Syaoran had taken
over her body! He started telling her the name of the attacks as he did
them, letting Devyn learn them. After a while of fighting, Syaoran did a
very complicated move. He said that it was his secret move. The
Sakurasong. Only he and Sakura knew it. Devyn did it again just to get
the feel of it. Suddenly, the girl lunged.
