Chapter 7 Everything changed. Life, friends, family, magic. Her. Nothing was the same. People looked at her in a different way. As she looked at herself in the mirror, she could almost see the vibrant green aura that she had worked so hard to build around her. She knew it was there, and her alone. Sakura might know but their relationship had changed. Sakura had changed along with Devyn. They held themselves differently. Everything was different. By night Sakura and Devyn practiced their magic knowing that it would be needed. After words, Sakura would use the Time Card to slow time in order to get enough sleep. It was three weeks after Devyn had had the run in with the Sword Card. She awoke and waited for Sakura to fix time. After it had been fixed, Devyn headed downstairs. The sight that caught her eyes was unbearable. Every member of her family impaled onto to red arrows. Devyn would not believe it. It wasn't true. They couldn't be dead. Devyn reached down to touch them and felt it. Those were no ordinary arrows. They were Cards. Devyn jerked back and fell to the ground as two red arrows pierced her through. Blood soaked the carpet. "Syaoran. I am him..." Devyn said as she drifted into unconsciousness. Sakura reeled at the presence. It was so strong and had a particular feel about it. Clow card alright. But there was something else. It was that of something merely alive. Then the absence hit her like a knife. Devyn! Sakura grabbed her cell phone and ran out the door. Her brother tried to stop her but she struggled past and flew down the street. |
