Chapter 8

Sakura stopped dead as she arrived at Devyn's. It was worse than she
thought. Everyone dead. No. Not true. Everyone but Devyn. Sakura rushed
over. The arrow seemed to hit her just below the heart. Her life force
was weakening quickly. Sakura brought her magic to flow through her. As
magic flowed about her hands, Sakura touched the two red arrows. They
seemed to dissolve. But the damage was still done. Sakura tried her
hardest and healed the wound enough to last the trip. Sakura pulled out
her wand and drew the Fly, thought better of it and called out float.
She jumped on the Fly and made Devyn float in the air right below her.
Making sure that her head wouldn't hit the top of the doorway, Sakura
zoomed out the door with Devyn close underneath her.

The doctors did all they could. Sakura did all she could. But it still
could not heal Devyn completely. Sakura looked at her as the monitor
beeped out her heartbeat. * If I wasn't there, she would have died, *
Sakura thought.
Sakura stayed by Devyn's side day and night for three weeks. She still
did not return out of coma. One day the doctor entered the room with a
glum look on his face. He slowly told Sakura that Devyn was returning to
her hometown to die in peace. Sakura's eyes flew open in disbelief. "No.
I can't let you take her. She has not finished her mission." Sakura said
defiantly. The doctor stared at her quizzically. "What mission?" He
said. Sakura thought for a second and then told him that it was a
secret. "Ohhhhhhh...well anyway...if you want to go with her, we can provide
you a ticket. You will first be stopping in China around Hong Kong. From
there, you will fly to France, and then land for good in America. The
flight is at 8:00 tomorrow morning
