Disclaimers: Card Captor Sakura belong to the great Clamp,
not to me.
Chapter 4 of Royal Luv:
"So how about it, brat?" Kero snarled.
"Yue doesn't want to be seen by Sakura. Don't ask
why, I don't know."
Syaoran glared back at Kero.
"Fine." Kero stuck his nose in the air. "I'll
get him myself." Giant
wings surrounded Kero's tiny body, and opened up to reveal a
large lion with
wings. He flew out of the window following Yue's aura into the
rain.
Sakura and Syaoran waited silently for their return.
A few minutes
later, a drenched Kero came back with a wet Yue. Sakura's head
shot up.
"Yue...glad to see you again." Sakura smiled.
"Yeah." Yue gruffed squeezing water out of
his hair. Silence.
"Ok. On with the show." Kero said, breaking
the ice. "I told Yue what
happened. Hopefully, he has a perfectly good explanation."
Kero looked at
Yue menacingly as if Yue would refuse to tell.
"Do you?" Syaoran asked handing Yue a towel.
"I think I do." Yue replied looking down at
his feet. "There's a
prophecy that says that the Card Mistress, that'll be you Sakura
and someone
of royal blood are to be destined. I'm supposing that's you,
Syaoran."
Syaoran blushed madly, but Sakura looked up at Yue. "Look
at me Yue."
Yue lifted his head up and looked at Sakura. "I am a maid,
Yue. Syaoran's a
prince who is going to get married to Princess Meiling. Nothing
could change
that."
"That may be, Sakura. But there are always twists
and turns that are
bound to make the prophecy true." Yue replied.
"Get on with the prophecy." Kero grumbled.
*How could I have not known
about the stinkin' prophecy?* Kero thought to himself glumly.
"It says that the two must unite and create a bond.
And evil will come
whether they are together or not." Yue said. "That's
basically it."
"But we didn't sense any auras or anything....evil."
Syaoran said.
*Sakura and I unite?!* Syaoran blushed a deeper shade of red
at the thought.
"Neither did I." Kero said. "But I have
a gut feeling that evil's
by....well, you two work out your problems and I'm off to the
kitchen. Kero
turned back into little, stuffed animal Kero and fluttered out
of the door.
Without a word, Yue flew out the window.
"This is really not making any sense." Sakura
said quietly.
"Yeah." Syaoran agreed.
"Well, I guess we're going to have to keep our guard
up." Sakura said.
"Yeah." Syaoran replied with his usual response.
Sakura and Syaoran sat
silently, not saying a word to each other. "Sakura?"
"Yeah?" Sakura shot her head up with a smile
and expectation.
"Uhm....I...uh...nothing." Syaoran looked down.
"Oh.." Sakura craned her head back down toward
her feet. *Leave,
Sakura. You two have nothing to talk about.* A voice inside
Sakura's head
demanded.
*But I don't want to leave. What if something happens?*
Sakura argued
*So, you're going to stay with him all day and night?*
*No...* Sakura argued to herself only bringing up the
conclusion that...
*You like him...you like him! You like him!* The voice
teased. Sakura's
face began to turn crimson.
*I do not!*
*You like him! You like him!* The voice continued to
taunt Sakura.
"Sakura, are you okay?" Syaoran asked. "You
look a bit red."
"I'm fine!" Sakura looked up smiling. "I'm
perfectly fine!" *He's a
prince! How could I like him? He can't be that important to
me. I've only
spoken to him for a few days!* The realization made Sakura's
face turn even
more of a deeper shade of red. *Is he important?*
"Are you sure?" Syaoran asked. His face showed
pure worry and nothing
less.
"Yeah!" Sakura laughed heartily. "Of
course I am! Oh! ook at the
time! I have to go!" Sakura continued laughing and walked
out the door.
*Whew.* Sakura shakily wiped her brow with the back of her hand
and leaned
against the cool wall right by Syaoran's door.
The pitter-patter of the rain echoed in Sakura's ears.
She leaned her
head back and drank in the coolness that chilled her blushing
cheeks. *What
am I thinking? Me, in love with a prince. My imagination could
go too far
sometimes.* Sakura shook her head hopelessly and walked slowly
back down
the hallway.
"Hey Sakura!!" A loud voice called to Sakura.
"Sakura!!"
"Tomoyo?" Sakura's head snapped back to reality.
"Something wrong?"
"Of course not!" Tomoyo smiled. "I caught
Chiharu and Takashi together!
They make the cutest couple! They've been together for awhile
but didn't
tell anyone. But they can't hold a secret like that for long!"
Tomoyo
smiled wickedly. "I could finally get something interesting
on tape."
"Yeah, that's wonderful." Sakura said with
not much enthusiasm.
"Is something wrong Sakura?" Tomoyo's smile
slid off her face and was
replaced by a frown. "Are you feeling alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a bit surprised." Sakura
said. *You mean really
surprised.* The voice in Sakura's head retorted.
"What happened?" Tomoyo asked. They continued
to walk toward the maid's
room. Sakura explained dully what happened for the previous
minutes.
"That's so exciting! You together with prince Syaoran!"
Tomoyo's eyes
sparkled. "This is going to be great!"
"No, it's not." Sakura said quietly plopping
onto her soft cot. "It's
impossible unless Syaoran's a lower classman or if I'm a princess.
And...I
know that won't happen in a million years." Sakura sighed.
"It could happen. Who knows?" Tomoyo said
encouragingly. *She's not
denying that she likes him!* Tomoyo thought to herself. *This
could get
interesting.*
"Thanks a lot, Tomoyo. But those words aren't that
much of a comfort.
What I'm really worried about is what the evil is after. Evil
could be right
in our faces and..." Sakura was cut off by a soft knock
on the door.
"Come in." Tomoyo said. The door creaked open
and Miro shyly came in.
"Sorry to bother you, but I kind of got lost. Stupid,
isn't it? Hehe.
Uhm...I wanted to know if you could tell me how to get to the
kitchen. I'm
kind of thirsty and the queen told me that I wasn't to call any
of the maids
today." Miro said.
"It's down the hall, take a left, go down the stairs
to the first floor.
From there, take a right and you should see it on the right side
of the hall.
It's big so you shouldn't miss it." Sakura instructed
dully.
"Arigatou." Miro bowed and shut the door behind
her. Sakura slumped on
her bed resting her head in her hands. The two friends silently
sat on their
beds, thinking to themselves.
"Did you feel that?" Sakura's eyes narrowed
in concentration and sat
straight up.
"Feel what?" Tomoyo asked.
"I....I felt something...really powerful...just for
one second though."
Sakura rubbed her head. "I must be dreaming."
"I don't think I'm dreaming about this. Look behind
you!" Tomoyo stood
up and her eyes widened in fright. Sakura spun around and saw
thick branches
breaking through the wall, covering her bed, and beginning to
cross the room
at a steady speed.
"The Wood card?" Sakura shook her head. "What's
going on?" Sakura
dashed to her dresser and took out the Sakura Book only to find
the Wood Card
still there. "It didn't escape." Sakura mumbled to
herself. "Something
really creepy is going on here."
The branches and vines grew quickly and began to crawl
into other rooms.
"Sakura. Help." Tomoyo wimpered. She was covered
in vines and branches that
were pinning her to the wall. Sakura saw vines twisting slowly
around her
ankles.
Sakura frowned. *I don't know what's going on, but it's
not a good
thing.* Sakura tightened her hand on the key necklace that always
hung on
her neck. "Key that holds the power of the stars. Show
your true form to
me. I, Sakura, under contract, command you. Release!"
Sakura shouted. The
key glowed and turned into a staff with a star with wings.
"Sword! Release!" The staff swirled into a
sword and Sakura began to
slice the branches and vines apart. They squealed as if in pain
and backed
away from where they came from.
"Are you okay, Tomoyo?" Sakura ran over to
Tomoyo who laid on her bed,
not moving a muscle.
"I think so." Tomoyo replied looking more frightened
than ever.
"Good." Sakura looked around the room and saw
no damage done, as if the
Wood never came. *This makes it more hard to believe.*

Meanwhile In Syaoran's room:
Syaoran watched Sakura smile broadly and creep out of
the room. *I
wonder if something's wrong.* Syaoran thought as the door closed
behind her.
Syaoran chuckled to himself quietly and sat at his desk. He
smiled as he
recalled Sakura's beet-red face and her stutter of words. "My
little Sakura
could crack me up." Syaoran said without thinking. *Did
I just say that?!*
Syaoran's own face began to pound and turn a shade of
crimson. *I did not
mean that!!*
The voice that mocked Sakura now seemed to have slid into Syaoran's
head.
*Aw, little Sakura! How sweet. Did you make that one yourself?
Sounds very
original.* The voice laughed. *Looks like someone got the hots
for Sakura!*
The voice continued, laughing even harder.
*I do not!* Syaoran fought back turning an even deeper
shade of red if
it was possible.
*Let's see how you react to this!* The voice shouted.
In Syaoran's
head, there was a picture of Sakura in another man's arms, in
his embrace,
and kissing his lips.
*No! Sakura! No!* Syaoran screamed at the vision in
his head as he
tried to reach out and grab her away from the man.
*Ah-ha! So, you do like her! Hahaha!* The voice disappeared
as it
laughed. The laugh echoed in Syaoran's head like a bad headache.
Syaoran's
red cheeks turned even redder at the truth.
Syaoran ran to his window and thrust them open, breathing
in the cold,
damp air. He felt raindrops hit his face like little sharp needles.
He felt
his cheeks return to a normal temperature and closed the window
with a sigh.
All of a sudden, for one second, Syaoran felt an evil presence,
an evil
force.
*What was that?* Syaoran ran out of his room and into
the hallway. *For
a second there....I...thought...hmm....maybe I was dreaming.
I wonder if
Sakura felt it too.* Syaoran ran to the maid's room as fast
as he could. He
knocked. No reply.
Syaoran opened the door a creak and saw Sakura run toward
Tomoyo who laid
still and frightened on her bed. Syaoran opened the door wider
and stepped
in. "Is everything alright?" Syaoran asked causing
Sakura to spin her head
around.
Sakura blushed at the sight of Syaoran. "Yes, and
no." Sakura signaled
for Syaoran to sit down. She sat on Tomoyo's bed as Syaoran
sat on Sakura's.
"I saw the Wood Card. I know it sounds crazy, but I saw
it and it covered
the whole room. I fought it off, but the confusing thing is...is
that it was
a card. I have no doubt. And none of my cards escaped."
Sakura creased her
eyebrow worridley.
"This is really strange." Syaoran said glumly.
He saw Sakura stare at
the ground while playing with her fingernails. Her face was
down, but
Syaoran could see the worry and fright in her it. Syaoran had
the urge to go
over to Sakura and hold her in his arms telling her that everything
was going
to be okay. "I still don't get what we're dealing with."
Syaoran said
trying to put all the pieces together.
"Dealing with a new set of cards." A voice
said outside of the door.
Kero came fluttering into the room. "From what I heard,
there's a new deck
of cards, except that they're here to do wrong." Kero frowned.
"Not good.
Hopefully the Sakura Cards are stronger. We can't do anything
until Evil
makes the next move."
Sakura slumped even more. "That's what I"m
afraid of. What if someone
gets hurt?"
"Don't worry, no one will." Syaoran assured
and gave Sakura the
'rare-smile'. Sakura blushed and smiled back.
"Hope so." Sakura said. "Are you feeling
okay Tomoyo?" Sakura looked
at Tomoyo who still laid on her bed.
"Yeah. I'm just a bit shocked." Tomoyo sat
up and sighed. "I hope this
is over soon."
"Me too." Kero agreed. "Well, you could
leave now, brat. The girls
should get some sleep." Kero growled at Syaoran and laid
down in his drawer.
"Looks like you're more tired than anyone, and you
didn't do anything,
stuffed animal." Syaoran retorted.
Veins began to pop out of Kero's forehead. He peeked
out of the drawer.
"What did you call me?" Syaoran and Kero started a
death glare contest as
sparks began to fly in the air.
"Kero." Sakura scolded. Sakura made her way
toward the drawer, dunked
Kero's head in, and closed the drawer. "Sleep." Kero
grumbled in the drawer
and reluctantly went to sleep,
"Sorry." Syaoran apologized.
"It's okay." Sakura said. The two stood there
silently , not able to
say a word to each other. Tomoyo watched and shook her head
hopelessly. *I
guess I'm going to have to do some pushing.*
"You should go to sleep Prince Syaoran. I think
it's going to be a big
day tomorrow." Tomoyo said.
"Yeah." Syaoran broke away from Sakura's gaze
and walked to the door,
with Sakura walking him out.
"Good night." Sakura said as they reached the
door. Tomoyo stood behind
her. "Yeah, good night!" Tomoyo walked toward the
door from her bed and
'accidently' tripped over her feet causing her to push Sakura
foward causing
her to fall onto Syaoran which caused him to fall to the floor.
(Hope you
got that.)
"Are you okay?!" Syaoran asked. Sakura blushed
as she realized she was
laying on top of Syaoran.
"Yes." Syaoran said blushing.
"Ow!" Sakura tried to get up but only found
that some of her hair was
stuck on one of Syaoran's buttons. "Oh, no!"
Tomoyo congratulated herself as she towered over the struggling
love
birds. She smiled wickedly as she held a small camera in her
hands.
Sakura clumsily tried to undo her tangled hair. It was
so hard with
Syaoran's face inches away from hers. "It's stuck!"
Sakura whined as she
struggled with her hair more. *Great, now I sound like a baby!*
Sakura
thought.
"Here, let me do it." Syaoran looked down at
his shirt and began to undo
Sakura's hair. Sakura watched Syaoran's intense face so close
to her's.
"There." Sakura's concentration was cut off by Syaoran's
voice. She saw her
hair was free of the button and noticed that she was still on
top of Syaoran.
"Oh!" Sakura blushed madly and stood up so
fast she almost fell again.
Syaoran turned a shade of crimson too, but stood up slower.
"I...uh..better get going now." Syaoran waved and
headed up the stairs.

The next Day:
"Good morning!" Tomoyo stretched. She looked
over the bed and saw
Sakura sleeping silently in her bed. *I don't want to wake her
up.* Tomoyo
smiled at her best friend and looked outside. The rain had slowly
turned
into snow and a blizzard was on its way. *This is just too much.*
Tomoyo
began to wash up in the bathroom.
"Oh! You're awake!" Tomoyo said happily as
she saw Sakura walk into the
bathroom, rubbing her eyes.
"Good morning." Sakura said drowsily.
"C'mon. Get washed up. We have to start breakfast."
Tomoyo said and
exited the bathroom.
**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**
20 minutes later:
"Sakura! I'm going to the kitchen first! I'll meet
you down there!"
Tomoyo shouted to Sakura as she skipped out the door.
"Okay!" Sakura replied as she struggled to
put her black and white dress
on. (Think of it as those maid dresses. With the black skirts
and white
apron.) Sakura was just about to put on her shoes when there
was a hesitant
knock on the door. *Who would be coming at this time?* Sakura
thought to
herself grumpily and opened the door. Her heart skipped a beat.
"Syaoran!" Sakura said with wide-eyes.
"Sakrua." Syaoran said huskily and smiled at
her. *I can't believe I'm
doing this.*
"Uh...so...what brings you here?" Sakura asked
with a smile.
"You." Syaoran said quietly and gently embraced
Sakura in a warm kiss.
Sakura's eyes widened even more at the touch of Syaoran's
lip against
hers. Without thinking, she kissed him back. The kiss broke.
"I'll see you at breakfast." Syaoran said and
walked down the hallway.
Sakura still stood in the doorway with one shoe on and
the other in her
hand. *I'm going to faint.* Sakura thought and blushed as she
fingered her
lips. She could still taste his soft, chocolate lips on hers.
**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**
In the kitchen:
"Sakura! What took you so long!" Tomoyo exclaimed
as she greeted
Sakura. Tomoyo was mixing a bowl of pancake mix with flour and
sugar all
over her hair and face.
"What happened to you?" Sakura asked taking
the bowl from Tomoyo.
"I don't know. The flour bag exploded. The kitchen
is a mess." Tomoyo
giggled. "You should have seen Chiharu's face when Takashi
tried to wipe off
the flour on her dress. Anyway, we're almost done with the food,
now all we
have to do is clean up." Tomoyo informed.
"Okay." Sakura nodded. "I'll go help."
Sakura handed Tomoyo the bowl
of pancake mix and grabbed a mop from a nearby closet and made
her way into
the main kitchen. The whole kitchen was filled with flour from
ceilng to
floor.
"I told you it was a mess." Tomoyo said from
behind Sakura.
"I could see." Sakura was totally shocked from
the appearance of the
kitchen. She began to mop a corner of kitchen only to see that
the flour
seemed to have 'grown' back on the floor.
"Everything we tried failed." Tomoyo said.
"And I think only a bit of
magic could help us here." Tomoyo winked. "I'll get
everyone away from the
kitchen." Tomoyo headed off with her bowl.
"This is going to be a long day." Sakura sighed
and released her key
into a staff. "Erase! Release!" The card flew around
the kitchen and in a
minute all of the flour was erased.
The card returned and the staff returned it's form of
a key.
In minutes, the kitchen was bustling with activity. "C'mon!
Let's get
the food out!" Chiharu yelled. Everyone grabbed a plate
whether it was
waffles or croissants, and headed off toward the dining room
where Meilng's
parents, Prince Syaoran, Princess Meiling, Queen Yulen and Miro
were sitting.
The maids placed the trays of food down, one by one.
Sakura placed her
near Miro and she felt a piece of paper being slipped into her
hand. Sakura
craned her neck to see Miro smiling and nodding for her to take
the note.
Sakura wrapped her fingers around the piece of paper and
returned to the
kitchen. She opened up the note which read:
To Sakura,
Please come to my room tonight at 7 P.M.
It is very important.
Arigatou,
Miro~
**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**~~~**
Hey! I know. It's a cheesy ending. But its my type of a cliffhanger.
Hehe. Who knows what Miro would want to do to Sakura. Hehe.
Anyway, I
don't want to give anything away. Special thanks to Brianna,
Black Bunny,
Lazy Cat and Dakotah.
