FF VII: Interrupted by Fireworks

[Author's Note] This is my first take at a CCS fic so it's probably pretty stupid. This takes place after the capture of all the Clow Cards and their transformation into Sakura Cards. Sakura, Syaoran, and Tomoyo are all 13. Okay, this is where my fanfic goes wacky. (WARNING: might contain spoilers :p) Right after her defeat of Eriol, I mean RIGHT after he's defeated, he doesn't give some powers to her dad, he just disappears, end of story. And Syaoran (sadly) doesn't tell Sakura he likes her. And everything that happens after that never happened. Life is just normal for a few years and that's where my story starts. "Matte!" Sakura Kinomoto ran after Tomoeda's newest students, Inell Tasuda and Guy Kinoshita. They had arrived a week ago and Sakura had quickly gotten to know Inell. Guy was very quiet so Sakura barely knew him; Inell seemed to know him very well. Inell was seen with Guy quite often. Inell was quite beautiful with dark auburn hair and startling violet eyes. Guy, who was half-American, had light, almost blonde, sandy-brown hair and clear sapphire eyes. They paused and waited for Sakura to catch up.

"Sakura, I'd get home quickly, it looks like rain." Inell said waving her hand in the direction of a rumbling, black cloudbank.

"You're probably right, I guess I should get going." Sakura smiled and started walking home.

<Sakura.>

Sakura peered through the fog trying to find the speaker. She didn't see anything except a blue glow. She slowly headed toward the blue light. As she got closer she could just barely make out the forms of The Mirror and The Watery. Between them, in the swirling fog a large blue ball of light had formed. She suddenly gasped as a freezing, icy wind blew behind her. Sakura turned only to find herself in a different place, a giant frost cavern. As she looked around she saw a form walking toward her causing tears to flow down her cheeks. Her mother.

<Sakura.> Sakura's mother gently wiped the tears from her face and wrapped her in her arms.

<Oh Sakura-chan, I can't stay long. Something dreadful is coming and you must learn to trust Her.> Who?! Sakura's mind screamed but no words came from her mouth. She could only think of her mother as a fresh flood of tears rose. Sakura felt her mother hold her tighter.

<Be strong. You've grown so much. You just don't realize your full power.> Her mother gently kissed her forehead and Sakura woke up. As she stared up at the ceiling of her room she tentatively reached up to touch her face and felt tears. Sighing, she smoothed back her hair and suddenly gasped. She could feel tiny snowflakes thickly covering her hair as they promptly melted away under her fingers. The dream had been real.

"Hmm, interesting"

"Syaoran! That's exactly what Kero-chan said about my dream, and then he left and didn't say anything else." Sakura said in a pleading tone. Syaoran looked down at her sad face and gulped as he felt his face heat up. Nervous, he quickly changed the subject "You know Sakura, I think you should be careful around those new students. I feel immense power coming from them, especially the girl." Sakura frowned at this new comment. That's exactly what he had said about Mizuki sensei and she had turned out just fine. She was just about to bring this up when she noticed Guy, sitting with Inell, frowning slightly and looking in the direction of Syaoran and her. Turning, she saw Syaoran staring right back with his famous burn-right-through-your-soul glare. Suddenly, she saw Tomoyo waving at her to come over so she left eager to get away. Syaoran grudgingly followed.

After they had reached Sakura's house, Sakura had invited them in for a snack and to talk about the new students, Inell and Guy. She was just about tell Syaoran about how nice they seemed when Kero-chan suddenly yelled,

" I GOT IT!"

" What is it?!" The three all said at the same time.

" Well, I finally figured out part of Sakura's dream.

Her mother told her she was stronger, right? And then before that she saw The Watery and The Mirror? Well, I think Sakura finally has the power to create her own cards using the Sakura Cards!" Sakura's jaw dropped. Was it true? Could she finally create her own cards? Before she could say so Tomoyo squealed in delight.

" Sakura-chan, Li-kun, Kero-chan, let's all meet in the park later, say six-thirty? Then Sakura can take a shot at it." Sakura said yes immediately but Syaoran only nodded.

At six-thirtyc

"Oh noc" Sakura's worst fears had been confirmed. The large package Tomoyo was carrying looked unusually like it was carrying yet another costume.

" C'mon Sakura, you can change in the restroom. Ooh, you'll look so kawaii!" Sakura meekly tramped after her. When they come out again Sakura was in bright green attire that consisted of a very short skirt, a green tank top, a see-through jacket, and to top it all off a wreath of fake green flowers. All over it were tiny shooting stars. Sakura had to admit though, it actually looked good, not disgustingly fluffy. Kero-chan just looked her up and down and smiled. When they had reached a sheltered area in the center of park they found Syaoran waiting for them. Syaoran was wielding his sword and wearing his traditional Chinese outfit. Tomoyo giggled as Syaoran turned a shade of red, as he looked at Sakura in her new outfit. Sakura, of course, didn't seem to notice. Kero-chan fluttered to the middle of the group and began to speak directly to Sakura.

" Okay Sakura, I want you cast the Watery and the Mirror at the same time, then, recite this incantation." Kero-chan leaned over and whispered something inaudible in Sakura's ear. " Got that?" Sakura nodded gripping her staff nervously. Now Sakura, GO!" Sakura yelled the so familiar words and as she spoke both cards floated above her head waiting for instruction. Gritting her teeth, she started the incantation.

" By my will, I command you to show forth your true selves and create a new source of power!" The words had barely left her lips when a small mirror encircled by a ring of water appeared between the two cards as the magical auras of both swirled around the clearing.

Sakura struggled to stand as she felt her power draining away and rushing towards the growing ball of light. Suddenly, a great snap resounded and the Mirror and the Watery retuned to their card form. At the same time Sakura lost her balance but instead of falling to the cold, hard ground she felt herself held up by someone, and that someone was Li-kun. She looked up at his face and they both blushed furiously. Tomoyo was recording this like mad.

" Kawaii! Ooh, this is beautiful, our heroine is held in the arms of her beloved!" Tomoyo whispered to herself. Sakura quickly picked herself up and whispered thank you. Syaoran turned away embarrassed but quickly recovered and yelled to the others.

" Look!" Everyone turned and looked in the direction he was pointing in. The blue ball of light was spinning faster and faster and coming from it was an icy wind filled with tiny snowflakes. Suddenly, with a great boom the light flew towards the sky and disappeared over the treetops. Everybody stood in silent shock and nobody said anything for a few minutes. Finally, Tomoyo piped up in a small, timid voice.

" What happened?" The three 13 year olds looked at Kero-chan.

" Sakura," he paused, "I think you're gonna be catching cards again."

So what do you think? The dreams sequence a little lame? Well, as to what's coming up, all the cards will be used to make new ones and don't worry all you S+S fans out there, there will be plenty of mushiness (I'm a fan too), plus they're gonna meet a little angel from a story of minec
