Chapter ~4~

Li just stood there looking at her.

"Hello?.. Li, earth to Li" she said.

Li snaps out of the daydream and blushed. "Oh! Sakura.. Sorry..!"

"So how do I look?"

"Fantastic!"

"Thank you" she said blushing "You look pretty good yourself"

"Thanks"

The man came back "So do you like them?"

"Yes we do!" they both said.

"Will you be keeping them on or do I put themin a box?"

"We weill keep them on" Li said.

"Um.. Do you have any backpacks here??" Sakura asked.

"Yes we do, come this way"

Sakura and Li looked around and spotter the same bag. "I want that one!" they both said and pointed at the bag.

"But I want that one, Li!"

"But I saw it first!"

"No"

"Yes" he said with a happy, evil face.

Li got closer to Sakura putting his hands on her hips, she put her hands on his arms. Sakura looked at him with a puppy dog face.

"But I wanted that bag Li"

"I was going to let you have it anyways" he said "I just wanted to see you ask for it!"

"AW.."

Li started to tickel her, Sakura started to laugh. "Li...Li...stop ha ha ha..please..!" The store clerk looked at them with a look on him face. Li stopped and got back to finding him self a bag, Sakura fixed her outfit and hair. Minutes latter ther were ready to pay.

"That makes 50 Tarot$ please"

Li took out the money and paid the man. Sakura too her Clow card pack and strapped it to her arm. Li strapped his to his pants.

"K you ready to go?" Li asked.

"Yup!" she said "Kero... oh that's right.... he's on earth..."

"You miss him don't you?"

They walked out of the shop. "Yes" Li put his arm around her shoulder and they walked over to Skyler.

"What took you 2 so long!?"

"Hey please... don't start" Li said.

"You know Skyer reminds me of Kero!"

"Why?"

"Cause you 2 always fought!"she giggled.

"No way!"

"Anyway we have to get to the next town and see if their is a Tarot Card!"

"Ya she's right" Skyler said.

Li got on Skyler's back first and helped Sakura on, she put her arms around his waist and held tight. Skyler opened his big black wings and fluw high up.

"Wow what a great view" Li said.

"It's wonderful!"

"Next stop Sandralato town!" Skyler said.

"Yahoo! Let's fly!" Li screamed.

"Ya let's go!"Sakura added.

"Hope we find a card"

"Ya me too!" she said "I want to leave. I miss my family and friends!"

"Me too..."

Sakura and Li enjoyed the view and arrived at Sandralato in 15 minutes, but there was a problem...

"What's going on?! Why are their trees all over the place? This is suppost to be a hot desert?" Skyler said.

"Really?" they both said.

"Yes! The houses are built underground to keep cool but the markets are outside though..."

"ok" they both said.

"We'll have to land in the clearing over there, it's the closes spot I can see"

They landed and looked around, the ground was sand.

"Do trees grow in the sand?" Sakura asked.

"Not that I know of..."

"Let's try to find some people.." Skyler added.

"Hello.. Anyone here?"

"Hello?"

Suddenly a boy came out. "Get out of here witch!" he screamed with his sword in front of Sakura's face.

"Euh.." Sakura said.

"Hey take that sord away from her!" Li demanded.

"Sorry I mistook you for the queen of earth!"

"It's ok..."

"I'm very sorry! She made all these trees and now we are stuck underground!"

"Why" Li asked.

"We tried to cut them down but they grow back the second it's cut! We have no place to walk, no one can shop, we barly have any food left!"

"But how do you grow food here" Sakura asked.

"If you walk south for 10 minutes their is a place where we grow food, we bring back things everyday in big trucks but the can't get through!"

"But that's just plain stupid! Why is she doing this?" Li asked.

"She said this was the best place to live because everywhere else their are trees and the desert has never seen a tree! So she took over, feeding on the water we have left!"

"We have to find her!" Sakura said.

"She lives in the darkest part of the woods in the north part. No one ever goes there! She'll feed on your life and kill you slowly!"

"That's horible!"

"How do you know that?!" Li asked.

"Well I was playing with my little brother and he ran away from me while we were playing. I followed him and she grabbed him and.... she attached her branches and vines in his arms and legs..... feeding in his life force, he's probably a vegetable now..."

"AH... but that's diabiolique!!!" Sakura screamed.

Tears came to the boys eyes. Li put his hands on Sakura's shoulders. She turns around and hides herself in his chest.

"It's terrible" she said "Why are these cards do EVIL??"

"You don't know?" the boy said.

"No, could you please tell us?!"

"Sure, the royal cards, the ones who rule the cards, they are the strongest. You have the Queen, the King, the Prince and the Princess" he said "The Tarot Clow cards were usually used just to tell you forturn and were hardly let out to help in normal jobs, that's why they are angry and evil!"

"That's why?" Li said.

"Yes, that's what I heard"

"Thank you! But what's your name?" Sakura said.

"My name is Derrik, and yours?"

"My names Sakura"

"I'm Li and that's Skyler our pegasus"

"Well I don't belong to you, you know?"

"Well you with us for the moment!"

"Oh shut up!"

"Oh! And some cards feed on energy from natural things like watter and life force from humains" Derrik added.

"ok..." Li said "We will get your brother back Derrik"

"What? Really! But how?!"

"Yes! But it's a secret!"

"Your the chosen ones?"

"you can say that"

"Wow, thank you! And good luck!"

"Your not comming with us?" Sakura asked.

"Why? I'll just be in your way!"

"No not at all anyway you need to take your brother home when we leave!"

"Ok then" "Derrik what are you doing it's dangerous out there!!" "What? You can't you'll get captured too!"

"Not when I have the card Chasers here!"

"The card chaers are here??"

"Yes!"

He moved to the side and Li and Sakura waved."Wow the legends are true then"

"Yes father! And now we are going to get Nicholas!"

"You be very careful son and you 2 be careful! Without you Tarot is doomed!"

"We know sir!" Li said.

"Good luck to you all and come back soon"

"We will" Sakura said.

"Hey has anyone see Sakura or Li this morning?" Merlin asked.

"No not since last night" Nikki said.

"I heard they were kidnapped" Chelsea said.

"They wern't kidnapped!" Madison said.

"What?!" they all said "Then where are they then?"

Madison's face was red.

"I don't know! But Sakura and Li know to defend themselfs so they couldn't of been kidnapped!"

"That's true!" Rika said.

"But where are they" Zachary asked.

"No one knows. Except for them. We'll just have to wait" Leila said.

"But for how long!?" Madison said.

"They'll come back soon, I hope!" Merlin said.

Ding Ding Ding

"Oh there goes the bell we should get to class" Rika said.

"Let's go" they all said.

They all ran to class and sat at thier seats while the Math teacher took the presents.

"Sakura Avalon" he said "Sakura Avalon?"

"Um.. She's not here" Madison said.

"ok then"

"He continued just until he landed on Li's name.

"Li Showron" he said "Li Showron?"

"He's not here either" Madison said.

"ok then"

He continued and gave the presents sheet to the surveillance woman.

"Ok then let's start class shal we?"

"So in what direction do we go?" Li asked.

Derrik took out his compas and pointed "North, over there"

They all got on Skylers back and he walked over because if he fluw they would miss her.

"So what does she look like?" Sakura asked.

"She lives in the biggest tree, all we can see is her face, next to her should be.... my brother:

"It's ok we'll get him back"

Meanwhile... the queen of earth over heard them talking, she hears everything, because she's all around them.

"Hum... sothe card chassers are finaly here!" she said "I'll make them go round in circles for a while! Just for fun!"

"Ple....ase....let....m-mee ggoooo!" a weak voice said.

"No! I need you!"she said "I heard the card chassers have a lot of life force because they use magic!" she looked at the thin boy "You are just a weakling compaired to them!"

She started to move the trees and bushes around, she made a dead end close by. Derrik looked at his compas, it was going crazy."Wha... what's going on?!"

"Whats the matter?" they asked.

"It's my compas... it's going bazurk!"

"What?"

"She must be moving the trees arounf!" Skyler said.

"Let's keep going in this direction and see what happens" Il said.

"Ok" they all said.

The queen of earth made one of her near by vines approche them, she got closer and wrapted it around Derriks leg, then she pulled the vin to take Derrik off of Skyler and hand in the air.

"Help!"

"They all tured around and looked up.

"Oh no" Salura said.

"Get me down"

"Wait a sec!"

Sakura took out her key and went through her cards."Release.... jump, sword come to my aid"

Next Sakura had the sword in her hands and was getting ready to jump."Li catch him k?"

"ok"

Sakura got off of Skyler and took a great leap. She jumped very high and cut the vine, Derrik came falling down but Li caught him. Secondes latter Sakura came back dowm.

"Return"

She took the cards and put them back in her bag and her neclass around her neck.

"Thank you!" Derrik said.

"No problem"

Back to the queen of earth....

"Ouch that hurt! She will pay" she said very mad "I'll let them find me now!"

She began to make the trees move agina and cleared a path up to her her. Then Skyler stopped and looked left.

"Whats wrong?" Li asked.

"Look"

"They all looked and saw the path.

"She knows we're her!" Li said. "Yes! We have to get my brother back!" Derrik said.

"Ok then let's go"

They walked over to the path and looked around. "It looks scary!" Sakura said.

"I know" Li said "But we have to go through it!"

Li held Sakura tight so she wouldn't get scared. They walked down the path and arrived at her layer. They saw Nicholas right next to her. She opened her eyes and lifted up Nicholas and thruw him at them, Derrik caught him.

"He is no more use to me now that you are here!" she said.

"Nicholas! Are you ok? Speak to me"

"Derrik get out of here now! Get him to safty" Li said.

"ok"

"Sakura get ready to use the leap on me! I'll carry you!"

"ok"

"No you won't" she said.

She through her vines at Li and caught him, he fell to the floor and she pulled him to her. "Ahhhh let me go!"

"NEVER"

"NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOO LI" Sakura screamed as tears fell down her cheeks.
