FF VII: Interrupted by Fireworks

"What was this dream about?" Tommoyo asked.

"Well," Sakura began, "I was cleaning, and I heard a noise, so I went to see what it was. I saw Syaoran standing there. He was fighting some monster. Then, after he killed it, a girl walked up to me."

"What kind of girl?"

Sakura took a deep breath, and thought a moment. "She had long brown hair, pulled into a low pony tail. She also had green eyes. She looked a lot like me..."

"And what about her voice?"

Silence filled the phone, then Sakura answered. "I don't really remember. I... I don't remember anything..." Sakura trailed off.

"Sakura? Are you feeling alright?" Tomoyo asked, concerned.

"I, I don't remember anything. I can't even remember the main idea."

"You should get some rest Sakura. I think you are wearing youself out. Take a nice nap, and we can talk tomorrow. Okay?"

"Okay."

Sakura placed the phone down on her desk and sat down on her bed. "Why can't I remember... Anything!"

******

"So," Sakura began, "This is you're place?" she asked, looking around.

Syaoran nodded to her in reply. "This is where I have been living the past few years." He opened the door, and let Sakura walk in before him.

Sakura took a step in, then stopped. "It's beautiful." She spoke out, as she saw the walls, covered in wonderful paintings. She took small steps as she admired them all.

"You like them?" Syaoran asked.

The brown haired girl turned toward him. "They are lovely. I love it!" She continued looking at the paintings until she got to the end of the wall. "So..."

"So, you want me to show you to your room?" He asked politely.

"Yes please." she hooked her arm with his and walked with him down the hall. "Who drew all these pictures?"

Syaoran looked down at her and smiled. "His name is Koushiro. He lives here too." he stopped in front of a door, and slowly opened it. "Here's your room."

Sakura walked in and took a quick look around. "I like, I like."

"I'm glad." Syaoran watched Sakura as she made her way through the room. "Well, I'm going to go to bed now, I'll see you in the morning." he turned and started out the door when he was stopped by a soothing voice.

"Please stay a while." Sakura said, in a slow tone. "Just until I get used to the room, please."

Syaoran turned to see Sakura sitting on her bed, leaning on her elbows. "Well... I-I guess a few minutes would be okay." He walked over to the bed and sat down next to Sakrua.

Sakura grabbed onto her hair scrunchy and pulled her hair loose, she then reached her hands up and cupped his face in her hands. She pulled him close, then kissed him.

"Hey, Syaoran! I was wondering whe-." Koushiro stopped in mid-sentence as he saw Syaoran and Sakura together. "Oh, uh, sorry. I didn't know you were buisy. I'll just leave now."

"No, no, it is alright. This is Sakura." Syaoran explained.

Koushiro smiled. "So this is the girl I've heard so much about. it is a pleasure to meet you."

"You too." Sakura said shyly.

"Anyway, I'll leave you too alone." Koushiro turned and walked back to his room.

Syaoran stood up. "I'm going to go to bed now. See ya in the morning."

"Yeah, see you." Sakura whispered, after Syaoran left.

******

"So, it looks like you guys are getting along well!" Koushiro cracked when Syaoran walked into the bathroom to brush his teeth.

Syaoran shook his head. "I'm sorry about that. I didn't think you were here."

"So, you had just started and were going to go further?"

"No!" Syaoran yelled, eyes wide. "You are a little pervert!"

Koushiro smirked. "Heh, I'm just a guy." he left the bath room waving good night.

Syaoran went to his own room and got into bed. (Sakura sure is different.) He thought to himself. (Well, I guess I have changed a lot as well. I just don't remember her being so farward... It's like, like, she's a totally different person.) Syaoran then turned on his side, and fell fast asleep.

******

Sakura opened the wardrobe that stood next to her bed. She pulled out a large blue shirt, which, most likely belonged to Syaoran, and changed into it. After she folded her clothes, she set them on a small table and got into the guest bed.

"Syaoran..." she spoke softly. "Now I understand. I understand it all. I now know how much you loved her, and how much she loved you. Or, shall I say, how much I love you? Yeah, I like the sound of that..." she giggled soflty to herself, then fell into a dreamless sleep.

******

"Good morning sleepy head!" Sakura greeted with a smile on her face. "Boy, you sure do sleep a lot." she giggled to herself. "And I thought that I slept in."

Syaoran gave a yawn and sat down at the table. "Yeah, I didn't get much sleep last night." He explained.

Sakura's face turned concerned. "Are you feeling alright?" she stood up from her seat and walk over to Syaoran. "Maybe this will make you feel better." Sakura gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and sat back down.

"Good morning Syaoran. Breakfast is almost ready." Koushiro called from the kitchen. "Sakura is a really good cook. She's been helping me all morning."

Syaoran smiled at Sakura. She smiled back. "It was nothing." She explained. "So, what should we do today?'

"Oh, yeah. How are you two going to spend your first day together?' Koushiro asked, bringing a plate of food to the table.

Syaoran shrugged. "I guess I could show you to a few popular places around here. How does that sound?"

"That sounds wonderful!" Sakura beamed, clasping her hands in front of her. "And what about lunch? You gonna take me out like a gentleman?" She asked with a wink.

"Of course. I'm always a gentleman!"

The sound of laughter filled the room as Koushiro practicaly fell to the floor guffawing. "Gentleman? You? Please! You expact her to believe that?"

"I do believe him." Sakura anounced. "I trust his gudgment."

Syaoran grinned deviously. "Then lets eat so we can be on our way."

******

"I'm so glad I finally get to spend time with you." Sakura said, walking arm in arm with Syaoran down the road. "It's been so long, and I've missed you so much."

"I've missed you a lot too." Syaoran replied, a slight blush kreeping into his face. "So, you wanna go to the park?"

Sakura's smile widened. "Sure! I love parks!"

They walked down to a large park and spent a short time feeding ducks, watching a giant panda play with little kids, and doing other things that people usually do at parks.

After going to the park they went out to lunch at a fancy french resteruant, their waiter being a giant panda.

Lunch was followed by a trip to a mall, where they had dinner at a pizze place. The waiter, again, being a giant panda.

Once they had finished all this, they headed back to the park. It was now about seven or eight at night.

"So, how have you been lately?" Syaoran asked, while he swang in the swing next to Sakura.

"I've been okay. How about you?"

"Same, I guess." he looked over at her, her long brown hair was blowing softly in the wind. (She looks so much different.) "How is your family? Your father and brother?"

Sakura thought a bit before answering. "They are doing alright. Dad is doing real good at his job. Touya," She giggled to herself. "he's still job hopping."

Syaoran laughed slightly. "Did you ever notice that he was always working in places where you were? He was just trying to keep an eye on you." he explained.

"Yeah. But, it maked me feel good knowing he loves me so much, that he'll go to that length to make sure I'm okay."

Syaoran nodded. "He really looks after you. I wish I could always be by your side, and make sure you are never hurting, or sad." The thoughts he was thinking came out of Syaoran's mouth before he even knew he had said them.

"Syaoran?" Sakura whispered.

"Yeah? What is it?" He turned to face her, but was faced with something he hadn't expected.

Sakura's lips hit softly against his. The chains of the swing rattled quietly while time stopped for them.

"Ouch!"

Sakura and Syaoran broke apart and stared toward a small bush behind them. "What-What was that?" Sakura asked, voice trembling.

Syaoran stood up and walked to the bush. With a quick swipe he pushed open the plant. There, on the ground, in a very unconfortable looking potision, sat a panda.

"What the hell?" Syaoran screamed at the farmiliar bear.

"It's the waiter!" Sakura noticed. "What is he doing here?" She questioned.

Syaoran glared down a the panda, and pulled him out of the bush by the ears. "Would you like explaining youself? Or would you rather have me beat it out of you?" he threatened.

"Ca-calm down! You don't have to be so rough." The panda yelled.

Syaoran reached out, and with a quick swipe, ripped off the panda's head.

******

O-tay-tay! There it is. Sakura and Syaoran's 'date' (if you could call it that) I bet you are very, very, VERY confused about the whole panda thing, right? I guessed as much. Well, it is kind of a pun. In the anime called 'Tokimeki' there is a girl who dresses up as a Koala and stalks her friends when they are on dates, she also leaves strange messages on their answering machines. So, that is where I got the idea. I just thought it would spice it up a bit. Who is the panda you ask? Well, you will have to read the next chapter to find out. And I know what a lot of people were thinking when they read this, some of them are right, some are wrong. You'll just have to wait and see.
