Velislav Zaimov (1951, Sofia)
Graduated composition with Prof. Dimitar Tapkov and Prof. Alexander Tanev at the “Pancho Vladigerov” State Academy of Music (SAM). After graduation he worked as a teacher in harmony at “Pancho Vladigerov” SAM, at the “Lubomir Pipkov” State School of Music and as a teacher in musical analysis at the Academy of Music and Dance Art in Plovdiv. Currently, he teaches score reading at “Pancho Vladigerov” SAM. His music has been performed in Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, Germany, Ukraine and has been recorded for the Bulgarian National Radio. Member of the board of the Union of Bulgarian Composers.
