My Observations about Chronologies and Dates |
Period 3: Of the Judges |
Period 4: Of the Kings |
Period 5: Of the Times of the Gentiles |
Period 6: Of the Latter Days |
The chronology of the Bible can be broken up into six sections. The clearest of these is the first period, or the period of the Patriarchs. In the first few chapters of Genesis, we are given very specific dates for the birth of the fathers of the world. This can be see in the Chart of the Patriarchs. (Below)
With one slight exception, (when Arphaxad was born which only effects one year) we have a very clear and detailed chronology of the births of the Fathers for the first 1,878 years. It is at this point that the matter becomes less definite.
