Michelle woke up a streched. She looked up and noticed no one next to her. Michelle heard some singing and walked toward the bathroom door. She heard Brian singing “I’m too sexy” (ya know that song). Michelle smiled and got dressed. When she was done Brian was dressed also.
“Hey There” He exclaimed wrapping his arms around her waist. “What are we doing today?”
“Um, repeat of yesterday?” Michelle joked. Brian smiled.
“I was thinking of going looking for a house?” Brian commented.
“No, this one is OK” Michelle replied. She almost coughed on her words. She didn’t mean that!!!
“You didn’t sound like that a few days before. Remember “I have to make it to fit my personality” Brian joked talking in a high voice.
“Well, we don’t have to spend money on another house when this one is fine” Michelle responded. What had gotten into her? She loved money. She would love a new house. One night with Brian and she was getting soft. Beth woke up in Kevin’s arms.
“Oh god, I have to call Michelle” Beth groaned. She smelt like Kevin from sleeping his arms. She jumped in the shower and scrubbed. Kevin was dressed and ready by the time she got out.
“What are you waiting for?” Beth asked.
“You’re coming to dance practice with me” Kevin demanded.
“No, I’m going with Michelle and Lynn shopping” Beth yelled.
“Michelle and Lynn will be there” He replied. Beth reluctently jumped into his car. They got to an old warehouse where the guys were practicing. Beth ran in to see Michelle and Brian sitting on the floor by Lynn and Nick wrapped in each others arms.
“Beth!” Michelle screamed. Beth pointed toward the bathroom and Michelle ran in with Beth.
“What’s up with you?” Beth demanded.
“I was talking” Michelle replied.
“Well, you looked happy, what an act you have” Beth joked.
“It wasn’t an act, last night I was sleeping when Brian came home. Something came over me and we made sweet love all night” Michelle giggled.
“Whatever, I thought you were going house shopping?” Beth asked.
“No, the one we have is fine” Michelle replied. Beth stared at her.
“What else are you giving up?” Beth questioned.
“You know Beth, I thought it out, maybe in the long run I’ll get more if I don’t break hearts” Michelle hissed. Beth stared at her.
“Think about that Beth, It could help you, you hurt people so bad, doesn’t it ever get to u?” Michelle yelled.
“No, they use me like I use them, that’s probaly what Brian will do with you! They pretend to love then they spit you out” Beth cried.
“Maybe so, but life’s a dare, you can take the easy path or the hard path, your chose” Michelle replied. She opened the door and walked out. Beth closed her eyes and let her body slide against the wall. The guys were already dancing by the time Michelle got out of the bathroom. Michelle took a seat by Lynn.
“Could I ask you something?” Lynn asked.
“Sure, about what?” Michelle questioned.
“Beth, does she have an attitude problem? Kevin usually dates sweet girls and Beth is such a bitch to him” Lynn complained. Michelle was about to speak when Beth came out of the bathroom. Her eyes were red when she took a seat next to Michelle.
"I thought about what you said” Beth mumbled. I gave her a look. It was time to eat and the guys took a break for lunch.
“Hey, what happen, you slip and fall on some water?” AJ joked. Beth looked up and gave him the finger.
“No” She mumbled. Kevin sat next to her.
“Are you OK?” Kevin questioned. Everything Beth regretted in her life hit her hard. The hearts she broke. The people she used. The people that had believed in her and all she did was laugh in their faces. She let out a cry and ran from the warehouse. Michelle was going to run after her but Kevin stood up and did.
“What was that about?” Nick asked. Michelle stared at him. She stared at Brian and smiled.
“Before I start you have to promise not to yell at me” Michelle whispered. They all shook their heads.
“About 2 years ago Beth and I decided that we’d been hurt by so many people. Beth didn’t care anymore. She married 2 men in a matter of months, leaving with their money. I tried to do this once. I married someone, but couldn’t leave them right away, I felt so bad” Michelle cried. Nick and Lynn were quiet.
“I knew it you little whores” Lynn yelled. She jumped off her seat and smacked Michelle in the face. Beth sat outside on the curb with Kevin.
“Tell me what’s wrong!” Kevin begged.
“If I told you, you would regret it” Beth whined.
“If it involves you I could never be mad” Kevin told her. Beth stared at Kevin.
“I’ve been married twice Kevin. Both were rich men, I left them and took their money” Beth blurted out. Kevin took a deep breath.
“And me?” He questioned.
“You’re the exact same” She whimpered.
“How could you do that to me? To anyone?” Kevin growled.
“I was terrible Kevin, I don’t deserve my life, most of all, I don’t deserve a man like you” Beth whined. Kevin looked at her.
“I don’t know how you can seem so beautiful when I want to yell and scream at you” Kevin laughed. Beth stared at him. A smile played on her lips. He had taken the bait. He actually believed she cared. Beth hugged him tightly and laughed to herself. Inside the warehouse pandemoium had broken out. Lynn had almost killed Michelle, while Michelle tried to get away from her grasp. No one got up to help her. Michelle kicked Lynn in the face.
“What the hell are you trying to do? Are you crazy or some shit?” Michelle screamed feeling her arm.
“You guys hurt my friends” Lynn yelled.
“So you kill me?” Michelle snapped.
“I knew you were a bad person!” Lynn yelled.
“Let’s see, you tell people your secret and they try to kill you, UM, yeah I think you’d be pissed off too” Michelle cried. Lynn looked at her.
“It’s not worth it” Lynn mumbled walking away with Nick on her heels. AJ and Howie turned around and left. Brian just stood there. The side door flew open and Kevin had Beth on his back. They ran into a spare room and locked the door. Michelle sat down on the floor and put on the radio. “My Love Is Your Love” came on.
“What timing” Michelle joked. Brian didn’t smile he just stared at her.
“Would you say something Brian” Michelle shrieked.
“You don’t want to know what I have to say to you” Brian mumbled as he stood up and left. Michelle looked up and cried. She heard the laughs of Kevin and Beth and felt like shooting them.
“SHUT UP” Michelle yelled into the door. She stopped crying and wiped her eyes. 2 years later Michelle married a poor man in NYC. Kevin and Beth married, 2 months after their wedding day she took all the money he had and left, never to be seen again.
