About the RPPS The Rockaway Park
Philosophical Society was formed by three friends in 1971. Its mission is
to spead the true
philosophy expressed in the Fullosia. The Society says
it exaults the mundane and ridicules the exalted in conformance with the
teachings of Rene Chateau Briand who scorned philosophers who prattle
about life but don't know how to act in a dime store." The Society
encourages and promotes American culure and a new national language
American Standard Jive. Read more about The Society

The Society Celebrates St Pat's Day
The St Pats Day Parade is a longstanding tradition in New York associated with the cause of Independence.
While Independence Day is celebrated on July 4th, legally separation occured in 1775
as Royal Governors were successfully deposed. The Revolution is
remembered as having begun on April 19, 1775 when provincial militias
clashed with Royal forces in Massachusetts and in Virginia.
In New York the Royal Governor and Lord Mayor of New York City fled
on March 19, 1775 after the St Patrick's Day parade of that year.
Why was the parade held March 19 that year 1775? Various theories
have been offered. Some say the NY patriots confused the code and
started the Revolution a month before they should have. Others say
the patriots parade was a responce to one staged by the British Army
two days earlier as a conciliatory gesture to the locals.
From the Prince Regent
Despite the Importance of St Patrick's Day, Only the Prince Regent of the Canadian RPPS sends
us poetry on a Celtic theme. We do forgive him for placing the Celtic hero
William Wallace in the royalist cause. Wallace served a different Queen and country.
Yet the poetry is fairly good Scotts. A lover of Burns and Browning might
enjoy the poem.
