JADE!
Name: Jade Breed: American Pit Bull TerrierBorn: Feb 10th 2000Gender: Female
My name is Jade. I am an American Pit Bull Terrier with a Carver and Alligator bloodline. I am fawn and white with green eyes and I weigh about 40 lbs. I am treated like a child by my owners. My owners are Shane and Jaime Menard. I am almost 9 months old. I was born on February 10, 2000. There are 3 other dogs that live in the house with me: Duke, a 5 month old APBT; Molly, a 4 year old poodle; and Honey a 1 year old poodle mix. My owners are dog lovers as you can tell.
My favorite things to do are: ride in the car with my head hanging out of the window, playing tug of war with my rope (my favorite toy), sleeping in bed with my owners, giving hugs, playing with my brother and 2 sisters, playing with kids, and watching my Mom wash dishes. I also LOVE dog treats.
The things that I don't like are getting in trouble, lawnmowers, taking a bath, and the vacuum cleaner. Once, when my Mom was vacuuming I bit the vacuum cleaner and picked it up in the air. My Mom thought that was funny.
Everyone knows that the American Pit Bull Terrier has a bad reputation. There is a law that the town I live in is trying to pass that will require all pit bulls to wear a muzzle and a leash when outside and the owners would have to register us as dangerous/vicious dogs. I don't have a vicious or dangerous bone in my body and I would never attack a human. That is unfair to the owners of dogs like me who would never harm anyone. So if your town is trying to pass this law, or has tried to pass this law please contact my owners at: Stang Ride @aol.com. Maybe they could give you some information on how to fight this law.
I also have my own webpage on Webshots. There are pictures of me and Duke. The address is: Http://community.webshots.com/user/jaimeee6
I hope that one day all of the good APBTs like me won't have to suffer for the bad ones who are trained to fight by their owners. If you ask me, I think those mean people who fight their dogs should be banned, not the dogs.
I hope you have enjoyed reading this and I hope that you will understand that not all APBTs are dangerous. It depends on how we are raised and how we are treated. If you think about it, anything, (animal or person) if you abuse them or treat them badly they will be abusive and mean when they grow up. So please, if you have never owned an APBT, please don't believe the media, give us a chance. Who knows, we may be the best pet you'll ever own.
Love, Jade
