PLARIDEL Mindanao Philippines

Supper Ferry Tourist Class

On a "Super Ferry" this is what you can expect from tourist class. The side walls are open to the sea, except that they have tarps which are lowered during storms. Light meals are provided as part of the fare, but it is not good to leave belongings unattended. This ferry runs from Mindanao to Manila. Also, as in this case, it runs from Mindanao to Cebu.

Ferry From Cebu City To Bohol Island

This little ferry travels to the island of Bohol from Cebu. There are many different types of ferries in the Philippines since there are 7000 Islands. This ferry left at 5 P.M. and arrived on the North end of Bohol Island, at a place called Talabon, at 9 P.M.. Because it arrived so late you were allowed to sleep on the boat overnight and disembark in the morning. The cabin was airconditioned and had two rows of beds. The only problem is that the airconditioning worked too well and it became very cold during the night with no blankets available. The price was very reasonable. As you can see things are getting a little more provincial now.

Jeepney Has A Flat

Shown here is Richard out stretching his legs while the driver changes the tire. It was a long dusty four hour ride with two Jeepney changes to reach the town of Anda, Bohol, close to where Dap Dap Resort was located. On the positive side the fare was VERY cheap, and there were frequent stops to buy refreshments etc..
