When the Nightmare emulator was released a few months ago the author didn't think to include a utility to create ROM files so nobody could actually use the emulator. I have been in contact with the creator of Nightmare and, with his help I have developed a program which converts Dreamcast game CD's into ROMs with the .GRE extension which Nightmare uses -the only program of it's kind. I have named this program the "DC ROM RIPPER v2.0".

This program has now been perfected to work with every game tested so far, you just insert a game CD into your drive, press the 'convert' button and a ROM will be created on your hard-drive! A DVD-Drive is needed however because the 1GB Dreamcast CDs cannot be read by conventional drives. The ROM Ripper should work with any DVD based drive around.

Since the output files from the ROM Ripper can be very large (anything up to 1gb), I have also created a program which will split these output files into smaller 650mb files which fit onto a normal CD. So if you don't have a DVD drive you can take your Dreamcast CD round a friends house who does have one, get him to convert it to a ROM, split it up and write it onto CD's for you, when you get home just copy the ROM off the CD to your Hard drive and play.

The 'DC ROM Ripper' program did take me a long time and alot of effort to create so I do ask for a small fee of $15 for me to send you the program, but it's worth it to have the power of a Dreamcast on your PC, this price includes the cost of postage and packaging plus a CD.
