Position: 018.11.03 Cameleonth's Flight he became twenty-sixth and the current Weyrleader of Janus Weyr. He is also the Wingleader of Daedalus Flight and Icarus Wing.

Born Dyffed to a Southern Weyr greenrider named G'dan and a Southern Healer named Kerra at the Southern Healer Hall. He has no siblings. Stronger than he looks, he stands 6'6" with a lanky build, medium brown eyes and curly brown hair. Dyffed remained at the Healer Hall during his early childhood and, when his mother was assigned to Kieres Weyr, chose to study as a Healer, finally specializing in animal healing.Near the end of his tenure as a journeyman, Dyffed was Searched for Merith's third Clutch. His Impression of bronze Grith prompted D'ffed to leave the Hall and permanently reside at Janus. Upon completing weyrling training, D'ffed asked to be assigned to a weyrhealer. He now serves at the territory's chief Animalhealer. Because of these responsibilities, D'ffed was granted his mastery in the Spring of the 14th Turn. D'ffed is a dedicated Rider/Healer with an infectious grin and easy-going manner (just as well: Grith is so laid back that, according to his rider, if he were any more so he'd be comatose!). He believes in dealing with problems directly. Gemma would rather he not be so direct sometimes. The last time Nimaleah told him 'I need to see the Weyrleader, NOW!', said bronzerider carried one dripping wet Weyrleader across the Bowl -- having pulled her unceremoniously out of the bathing pool and shoving her into a dress. He is deeply devoted to his friends, but not above playing a joke on them. Being rather tall, D'ffed tends to be a bit clumsy, especially when concentrating hard. His large eyes and warm smile mark him as a truly likable fellow. He enjoys dancing, but has trouble finding a partner to keep up with him. He was the Weyr's only trained animal healer until the arrival of Mielle, and his 'bedside' manner with human patients leaves a bit to be desired. He likes the colors red and bright blue, carries a belt knife, first aid kit and wears tan leather gloves. He is accompanied by his bronze firelizard, Fred, and a tiny green one named Dayna (D'ffed fully expects her to stay tiny). She sits on his shoulder all the time and sings to help tranquilize whatever beast he is currently working on. Fred is very protective of his human and his possessions. He feels it's his duty to locate injured animals for D'ffed.
