A performance of a complete Requiem Mass in Latin is extremely rare even in Vienna. On 6th December 1991 such a memorial Mass for Mozart was given in St. Malachy's Church in Belfast where the celebrant was Father Hugh Kennedy with Bishop Patrick Walsh in attendance. The complete Requiem Mass is not simply the music sections and on this occasion there were prayers between the Introit and Kyrie, between the Kyrie and the Dies Irae, a Gospel between the Lacrymosa and the Offertory, a Preface before the Sanctus, a Pater Noster before the Agnus Dei and a Communio preceded the Lux Aeterna. The Ave Verum was also performed.
