Karekatte is miracle place of St. Anthony of Padua, situated down of Hulikal ghats or close by Hosangadi surrounding thick forests and close town is Kundapura. The miracle happened with small statue of St. Anthony for so many receive miralccles. Once it was guard to the people who are travelling ghats and travellers before going to ghats. Priest of Basrur parish has tried to bring this statue to main church. But the miracle statue was going back to same place, where it was before. Not only this cause but believers have their love for several miralces from around Mangalore, Shimoga & Karwar.
Place is covered with Chapel, a black stone staue, whish is makes more devotee to his faithfuls.
Pilgrimage are coming here throughout the year. The main feast is going on this place is (1) Annual Feast before the lent around end of February or Beginning of March every year. (2) Date feast of St. Anthony i.e. 13th June every year.
To reach her can pick up bus from Kundapura, Shimoga and Udupi. Even from train you can get down Kundapura station and can catch Karekatte close by station.
