Chapter Four:
Sing for me my sweet baby...

The two days at the beach had been wonderful, building sand castles, playing in the surf, getting sun burnt; because a pale, blonde-haired, blue-eyed girl just doesn’t tan, and most importantly being with Taylor, but that was over now. It was time for the concerts to begin.

I had forgotten how crazy it got on the days of concerts. The guys were doing radio shows in the morning, running around during the day trying to get everything situated for the evening, then they went to sound check, and eventually the concert started.

But before the guys went on they had their normal prayer and then for some reason a tradition started where they came to me and I said something that would get them pumped.

First Zac came to me holding Zoë.

“Okay Emma, lemme have it,” he said shifting his little sister to his other hip.

“Well, you’re gonna go out there and you’re gonna sit down at those drums and think ‘I am the king and no one in this room is nearly as good as me.’ Then you’re gonna kick ass as you beat the shit out of those babies,” I said while Zac high-fived me.

“Emma I need your boost,” Isaac said coming up to me.

“Ike, Eric Clapton gets jealous when you play the acoustic sets and tonight when you start rocking you’re gonna just take every electric guitarist down, it’s gonna be so awesome. You’re gonna reveal powers you didn’t know you had. Ahh Isaac my dear, you will be the god of guitar tonight,” I said bringing a somewhat confused but proud smile to Isaac’s face.

“And what do you have for me,” Taylor said coming up to me putting his hand on my waist.

“Come here,” I said pulling lightly on his collar. He leaned forward and I whispered in his ear. “The harder you rock tonight, the harder we rock tonight.” Then I pulled back and he had a weird smile on his face. “But please sing for me my sweet baby,” I told him quoting a line from our favorite poem.

“For I will sing as sweet as the morning dew after a midnight storm,” Taylor said kissing me sweetly on the lips.

“Hey mommy! Tay kissed Emma,” Zoë yelled out from Zac’s arms. The only thing was that Zac was wearing a live mic and I frowned when I heard her voice echo out through the venue.

All Taylor did was kiss me again. I took Zoë from Zac’s arms and on the count of three the guys ran out on stage creating an uproar from the crowd.

“Are you guys ready to rock?” I heard Taylor yell out to the masses of girls. “Cause I certainly am, so let’s rock!”

The concert started with the guys singing old material, new material, and stuff the fans had never heard before.

Me, Diana, and the rest of the Hanson siblings were sitting up in the sound booth watching as if we were fans. I quickly found myself immersed in the music, singing along with the guys. Every time Tay would talk to the crowd my heart would skip a beat, maybe it was just hearing his voice in the setting he was so accustomed to, maybe it was just because I loved him, but after that night I definitely had an irregular heartbeat.

“Well,” Taylor yelled out, “I’d like to dedicate this next song to Emma, because when I’m with you all things disappear and I am… Dancing in the Wind,” he said with his voice fading out and the song coming in.

“Oh gosh Diana, he dedicated a song to me, in front of a crowd. Oh geez,” I yelled out to Diana.

“It’ll be okay honey, just have fun,” she said being my mother.

The concert ended with the guys singing the studio version of Underneath and the crowd just becoming a pandemonium of noise the whole time they sang. It’s a quiet song, try and be quiet for a little while. That was Zac’s opinion anyways, but I definitely agreed.

I hung around watching the meet and greet and then we all gathered ourselves into the bus returning to the hotel. From there we were going to go to a nice restaurant that we had reserved and asked to stay open tonight for us. They were kind enough to do so.

We went out to eat and came back to the hotel carrying sleeping kids and holding up sleepy adults. Taylor and I were the only ones who were still fully awake, I had made a promise and I was going to keep it.

We ended up going in my room because we didn’t want Zac to see anything his horny, immature eyes didn’t need to see.

I loved Taylor, but after that night I loved him very, very much. We needed to have sex after concerts more often. A good adjective would definitely be rocking like I said earlier.

The next day we were expected in Atlanta so we had to get up early and onto the bus fairly quick. I was okay with being on the bus this time though. The guys were sleeping and the kids were playing quietly in the back so I had some time to sit up in the front to work on my portfolio.

My life-long ambition had been to be a super-model, or at least some sort of fashion model. I had the perfect body, I was shaped like Taylor, only with a few more feminine curves and I was always told that I was pretty enough to put on someone else’s clothes. So I wanted to be a fashion model.

I had applied to a modeling school in Tulsa and they asked me to put together a portfolio, which I was currently doing. That caused me to buy expensive clothes and have a professional photographer takes pictures of me in all kinds of different poses. I had even modeled some very simple bathing suits, which the guys had never seen and would never see the pictures of.

My “working on my portfolio” goal quickly ended when I was tackled full speed by Mack on the rampage. Pretty soon I found myself playing with Avery, Mack, and Zoë with Jess watching on. She was in that stage where she just wanted to be at home, but you could tell she was having fun.

At a very questionable time we stopped just outside Atlanta for a meal and then headed to the venue where we would be playing. We were met there by the scream squad. They seemed to be even more venomous then I had remembered.

That night the concert was even better than the one the night before and we all got back on the bus ready to travel, laughing and having a good time. I dropped my smile when I realized that I was four days late for my period. Normally that wouldn’t bother people, but I was never late. I had never been late in my life. Oh God, this couldn’t be happening.
