Chapter Nine:
Let's take our happiness and run far away...

I couldn’t really run down the aisle, and Taylor knew that, so we set off at a brisk walk towards the door. We rushed to the car that was waiting to take us to the reception and climbed in the backseat. As soon as I was in and I had made sure that my dress was all the way in the car I turned to Taylor.

“Wow, we did it! We got married! I can hardly believe it. A year ago I never thought this would be happening, but look at us now. Isn’t it just purely amazing?” I said snuggling into Taylor’s waiting arms. I breathed in the scent of him and I nuzzled my nose into his neck. He was so warm and comfortable; I didn’t really want to go to the reception. I just wanted to be with Taylor. Only, Taylor wasn’t saying anything and I could hear his heart beating pretty fast.

I turned my head so that I could look at his face and what I saw in Taylor’s eyes actually scared me.

“Baby, what is it? Is something wrong?” I said terrified that Taylor was now having second thoughts about this all.

“No, nothing’s wrong. It’s just; did you see the way your family was looking at us, at me? It looked like they didn’t care about our happiness; they just didn’t want us together. Why would anyone want that? Why would someone not want soul mates to be together?” Taylor said looking at me. His blue eyes holding a depth and a sadness that I wanted to fix so badly.

“Oh, Taylor, sweetie, it doesn’t matter what they think, they have no mind for anyone but themselves. All that matters is that I love you and I know this is the right thing to do. I also know that this baby needs a mother and father who love each other unconditionally and parents who don’t let other people get in the way of their love. Tay, nothing will ever make me pull my heart away from you. Not my family, not your job, not your crazy bachelor party, and not anything that could possibly be thrown at us in this world. You hold my heart and my love and please, don’t ever give it back,” I kissed him lightly and took his hand in mine. Our hands fit so perfectly together I knew that we were meant to spend eternity like this.

“Em, I love you too. No, nothing will ever make me stop loving you. I promise you that. Hey, let’s get to this reception thing… I heard they have cake,” Taylor said smiling, the sadness in his eyes disappearing.

“Of course they’re going to have cake and I want some of it too. I didn’t spend a month picking it out for no reason,” I said laughing at him. He was so beautiful, a beauty that I can not describe with any word in my vocabulary and he was mine. He was mine…

We got to the reception and everyone was there. Taylor and I had changed in the limo and now I was wearing a white dress that formed to my body and showed off my stomach. The dress was beautiful it flowed in elegant silk all the way to the floor. Taylor had just taken off his tie and cummerbund and opened up the first few buttons of his dress shirt to reveal his many necklaces.

Our family was there and our friends were there too. I loved being there in front of everyone presenting myself as Mrs. Taylor Hanson. We ate, we danced, our best friends gave us beautiful toasts, I ate some more, we received beautiful gifts, I ate some more, and we were finally able to leave.

They blew bubbles at us and we headed off into the sunset towards our honeymoon.

Taylor and I had decided that we didn’t want to take a plane at all on our honeymoon. We both felt that it was just trapping us in and we had to sit there for a couple of hours waiting for our honeymoon to begin, but in order to do what we wanted, we had to get on a plane, so we would take the Hanson’s private jet to the coast of Virginia. Then we were going to take a cruise across the Atlantic Ocean until we reached the UK, there we were going to spend a week Ireland.

So, that’s exactly what we did, and we had a wonderful week. We decided that since we couldn’t do the normal honeymoon thing that we were going to have the most beautiful week ever. And the Irish scenery was magnificent.

I was truly more happy than I had ever been in my entire life, I couldn’t believe how things were turning out for me, I was truly thankful.
