He is one of Dr.Gero's creations that was activated by 17 and 18 to help them in their misson. He has an unusual interest in animals such as birds and squirrels and is very gentle with them. At first they thought he was stupid since he never talked and didn't want to help them destroy anything. Turns out though that he was programmed to kill Goku and only that. 16 is very focused on his misson and spends most of his time meditating in preparation. Later in the cell saga 16 helps protect 17 and 18 from cell and even teams up with Goku and the gang to stop cell. Before cell absorbs 17 he is actually stronger but still he doesn't beat him.
Android 17
He is 18's brother and enjoys long drives in the country, fine food and of course the death and destruction of earth and it's inhabitants. He is programed to destroy the earth and helps 16 find Goku but stops when cell tries to absorb him. He is no match for cell and even with piccolo helping him he gets absorbed by cell. Then in Gt he comes back and merges with himself to become super 17.
Android 18

Introduced in the Android Saga she is also like destruction but isn't as patient as her brother. She can't seem to find a decent pair of clothes anywhere and gets extremely mad when someone messes with her hair. She travels around with 16 who tries to protect her from cell but eventually is absorbed. Krillin however had the chance to deactivate her but he kept having flash backs of her kissing him and so he smashed the remote. Later when cell throws her up she and Krillin get married and have a daughter. Since she is half human it works. She isn't very social and openly friendly but is more reserved.
Android 19
He is one of Dr.Gero's androids that can absorb a person's energy by touching them. He almost kills yamcha and goku...because of goku's heart disease..Then vegeta defeats him.
Android 20
Android 20 travels around w/#19 to find goku.He also can absorb energy by touch but is much stronger than 19.although he doesn't appear to have a better fashion sense for his clothes are horrible! What you don't know until later is that he is infact Dr. Gero himself. he turned himself into a android. He dies at the hands of his creations 18 and 17.
