As the 3 androids hunted for Goku, Piccolo met the latest threat to the Z Warriors, Cell. Another android by Dr. Gero but even stronger, he was able to do everyone's attacks and moves. And he found his purpose to be to go back in time from the future to hunt down Androids 17 and 18 to be complete. Because even Piccolo wasn't powerful enough he merged with Kame to become yet again a stronger Super Namek. Because Cell was able to absorb Android 17, he became stronger and it was time for a quicker way to get stronger, there was a time capsule up at Kame's place. At the time capsule you can get a years trainin' in 1 day. Trunks comes back and decides to go in the Time Capsule with his father and a day later they are stronger saiyans and buy time for Goku and Gohan to train while they fight Cell.
