OLD MURDER CASES ARE SET FOR TRIAL

Kinder, Scaggs and Browning May Face Juries at Logan Session

LOGAN, April 4.—Six murder cases, continued from the January term of circuit court are on the felony docket for the term which will open here Monday. The grand jurors are summoned for the first day of the term, and pelit jurors are to report on the following day. The defendents to homicide charges are Peter P. Kinder, of Blair; Former Police Chief A. C. (Soup) Scaggs 0f Logan; "Barbara Perry, of Harts creek; Tweel Browning, of Logan; Bruce Conley of Harts creek and Emma Edwards. Kinder, Scaggs and Browning and Mrs. Perry are at liberty on bond. Conley a prisoner in the county jail. The Edwards woman Is not in custody.

The first murder trial will be that of Mrs. Perry, charged with the fatal shoottns of her brother-in-law, Alex Dempsey, November 6, 1929. Bruce Conley is indicted for the murder of Dell Doss on Harts, November 1, 1929. He was only recently apprehended.

Scaggs is charged with the slaying of Easterbrook Carey, November 16, 1928, and Browning faces trial for the death ot Julius Williams. Kinder's trial is set for Wednesday, April 30. He Is charged with the killing more than nine years ago of Joe Gore at Blair. Kinder was a fugitive until several rnonths ago, when he was arrested at River Rouge Mich.

The sixth alleged murderer is Emma Edwards indicted for the slaying of Robert Miller on December 25, 1928.
